Fire extinguisher, first aid, bow saw, water, blanket/umbrella depending on the season. The gun, water, and the umbrella can be in whatever bag you carry around (computer bag, backpack etc.) and lots of flashlights can kit in your pocket these days that give as much lumen power you're going to need unless you need a spotlight. The water might get kinda hot or plastic tasting though depending on the season. The bow saw being for if you live in an area that roads can get blocked off by trees, and you could also have a hack saw blade to help people stuck in wrecks.

I think your first priority is to get help, and your list needs more ways to do that. The flare gun and GPS is a start, but what about a few old cell phones? Any cell phone can dial 911 regardless of if it has a service plan or not. What about a satellite phone that can work anywhere? You're talking about going out to shoot squirrels when your main priority should be to extricate yourself from a dangerous situation and get help. There's nothing wrong with preparing to survive on local game in an emergency, but my point is that squirrel stew should be on the bottom of your list, while back-up cell phones, radio, sat phones, and other ways to contact help needs to be number one on your list.

Topping the list with a flare gun and a rifle? You can't shoot your way out of a ditch. How about what you need most when you have broken down in the past? It's not a WROL that you're going to be seeing next time you car breaks down, it's you forgetting to put more gas in the tank or a tire blow out. 1. Jumper Cables 2. Folding shovel 3. Tow Rope 4. Gas Can (to bring back a gallon when a kind Samaritan give you a ride from your empty car to the gas station.) 5. Basic Tool kit / Ratchet set. It may not be as Tacticool, but I guarantee my 5 get way more use.

BTW he doesn't have all that stuff for robbers/criminals or any of that stuff because there is a very very very miniscule chance that you will be attacked at all by someone. he has that mostly for the wildlife. people don't realize the U.S. has some fairly deep rural areas (actually most of the country is that) and if something goes wrong (like if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere) your basically screwed. the guns are mostly for any wildlife that tries to attack him or for survival to hunt game for food. it may be overkill but shit if he wants it let him have it. make fun of him all you want, he just wants to be prepared *IF* that happens. not *WHEN* it happens.

I also like to keep a quarter tank of gas in my truck at all times. Think of the quarter mark as empty. When 9/11 happened there was so much confusion and so many rumors flying around that every gas station here was back up for miles and people were waiting hours to get gas. And this was on the opposite side of the country from NY. If you're like me and you work 30-45 min away from home the last thing you want is to get stuck in town trying to gas up when a disaster strikes. And if you live in a area prone to natural disasters and you need to get the hell out of your home and haul ass in the middle of the night you don't want to hop in the truck and see the "low fuel" light.
@ilovepotatos Жыл бұрын
Quarter tank means less vapour if you left it near empty it has less breathability on the gas tank materials and you wear down the vehicle.

The problem with prepping your vehicle with a lot of bags and extra crap is that you're far more likely to get a smash and grab type robbery than if it's clean and empty. Unless you have a way to conceal all of this stuff, it's just going to get jacked at some point.

I am grateful to live in the free state of Pennsylvania. However, I am bordered closely by and work in the communist police state of Maryland. If I were to leave a long gun in the car and get pulled over, I would be facing a prison term. Hell considering their mentality, a 1,000 lumen flashlight is probably illegal. "law enforcement blinding advice"
@thetobaccoguy175110 жыл бұрын
Malice I'm not a expert, as I don't live there, but my understanding is that long guns CAN be transported in your vehicle, as long is it is unloaded, inaccessible ( trunk, under back seat), and the ammo is stored elsewhere in the vehicle. As for handguns, I have no idea. I just know you should NEVER forget you have one and cross the state line. I've done it a few times and was sweating bullets, no pun intended.

I'm a gun guy, I'm all for carrying guns. But this is a little crazy. I mean, in what scenario would you need an AK and all that ammo? Do you think we are going to be invaded or something? and if we are do you think you are going to be able to fight an army while carrying 100lbs of ammo and gear? In that situation it's probably going to make a you a high value target rather than help you survive.

I guess you never seen the 80s documentary, Red Dawn, hosted by Patrick Swayze.
@Ox-Plays10 жыл бұрын
Richard Sekmistrz And what do action movies based on fiction have anything to do with this? and do you think the wolverines would have gotten away in the first place if they had 100+lbs of gear on them? lol The chances of someone invading the country are far less than the chances of you getting in a crash and your car catch fire and start firing off bullets in every direction which isn't good for anyone around and especially inside. But other than that, the possibility of being invaded is so small its crazy to ride around with 300rds of 7.62 and a rifle in the trunk to be prepared for it.
@liquidbullet510 жыл бұрын
***** While it is excessive to roll with 300 rnds, I'd just say its as simple as pack what ever gun you familiar with and are comfortable with. if an AK is your gun of choice and you've gone hunting with it and are very familiar with it, then by all means, throw it in. Personally I favor a .22, but next in line would be my 30-06 for a survival scenario.
@Ox-Plays10 жыл бұрын
liquidbullet5 Yeah, I mean I know plenty of people that carry a rifle in their car.truck all the time. I see nothing wrong with carrying a long gun for hunting and a pistol for self defense. But carrying 300 or so rounds for either is a bit excessive and seems like there is more potential for it to be a hazzard than for it to be useful. and why a .22? I mean itd be good for rabbits and squirrels but It wouldnt be my go to caliber for anything much bigger. I'd also want something with magnification, distance is your friend in all situations, combat or hunting.

I like the old ALICE system. I am old school infantry but it worked back then and I am comfortable with it. The Large ALICE pack may not be to modern standards but it holds a lot and very tough. The LCE does the same but very comfortable when walking once you tighten up everything. I usually put 4 ammo pouches, two canteens with canteen cup and canteen cup stove, water tabs, butt pack, knife, and holster for a pistol with spare ammo and mags. The rest of my stuff in the ruck sack is my IFAK, poncho, poncho liner, 3 spare socks, Camel Back, strobe light, Bic Lighters, bungee cords, 550 cords, batteries, E-tool, baby wipes, Gurkha Kukri for chopping wood for fire and shelter, knife sharpener, and chow for 72 hours. The chow is 6 stripped down MREs which is easy to get. For a long gun I would carry an M-4 Forgery because of parts, ammo, and magazines. Law enforcement and military uses the same here in the US. For a handgun, it would be a 9mm of any brand because of ammo. The Glock 19 or 17 would be my choice when I roll out on the road. Once again ammo, parts, magazines and ammo are available in most gun shops and sporting goods stores in cities, big towns, and small ones. The Glock along with the M4 Forgeries are common in places where I have traveled. I pack these weapons if I go out on road trips if I don't have to go into or cross Communist States like Commiefornia or such states fortunately. I never plan road trips around those places. If a WTSHTF situation arrives I will try to get back to friendly lines not to the enemy.

I keep a HALO Bolt in mine, and it has a rating of some 58,000 MWH, is AC/DC compatible and it will do everything from run a portable heater to charge a cell phone to jump start a car or truck. That's actually awd. When the front wheels slip, the differential gives power to the rear wheels. Not the best but better than nothing
@bonferoni66649 жыл бұрын
That's correct. Of coarse 4wd is actually 2wd if traction is compromised on one side of the vehicle. Then there's lockers and traction control that will trick and LSD into sending power back to the gripping wheel. The CR-Vs biggest advantage is it's light weight and it's disadvantage is ground clearance. I recall a trip on steep, washed out back roads where my vehicle outperformed a 4wd Durango.

This is just my opinion: 1. good first Aid kit 2. your preference of hand gun w/ ammo 3. compass w/ map of the area and gps 4. flash light w/ extra batteries 5. good reliable knife or multiuse tool w/ knife and fire starting kit

Things must be really bad over there in the US if you need an assault rifle in your car :(

The main thing that is missing is painters tarps or body bags, zip ties and road flares etc... You would be amazed if you have to transport someone bleeding out it gets messy and why get blood all over your car...

When my car got broken into, they got my fifteen year old scratched spare eyeglasses and my brand new briefcase. The briefcase had my old Casio Fx4000p calculator which was worth around $1.42, and which I still miss very much. I am very glad I did not have a gun in the car. Losing an expensive gun is bad. Arming our fine, local gangsters is extremely bad.

Being prepared for every posibility is an exercise in futility.Aside from the standard safty equipment plus tire repair kit,I carry a get home bag with every thing needed to sustain me for a week.That way if I find myself stranded in an isolated area without cell service I have the option to walk out.

"Never know what's gonna happen" seems to be said a lot in this video. What the hell does that mean? What unforeseen incident will demand a Kalashnikov and a bandoleer's worth of ammo? I can understand why you would bring all manner of clothes, canned food and a few practical tools but this is all centered around combat as if that's what survival is all about.

I'd suggest if your going camping, or drive in areas you could become stranded for any reason, bring a gun you are comfortable hunting with if it comes to that. If an AK is your gig and the weapon you are most comfortable and accurate with, then bring it. Personally I would prefer my .22 for hunting, but a close 2nd would by me 30-06

No you need a car with UL752 bulletproof windows with composite armour plating. And a 7.62 on the roof.

Great video Eric. I live in earthquake country and in order to get to my place of employment is a small two lane road with a single very old bridge. I often thought, what if I was at work, and a quake destroyed the bridge?, well I most certainly are not going to make it home any time soon. I outfitted my truck with all you mentioned, The Ruger 10/22 takedown plus 1,000 rnds of ammo, a .45 acp+ 500 rnds, 3 gal water, I opted for Mountain house freeze dried due to the fact of extremely hot summers (won't spoil) and a hand held "Ham radio" no bigger than a pack of smokes, capable of reaching repeaters and linking literally across the country and if needed via "Echo link" across the globe. can't stress enough the importance of being prepared. especially in my neck of the woods. I think you should instill more self prep and survival videos on your channel, I am sure it would be a hit!!! Kind regards! Eric Dee.

just make sure they dont steal your car, or you will be providing a miniature arsenal to delincuents

A handgun and a rifle isnt an arsenal
@dylanmorgan27529 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that anywhere in the world with normal human beings would consider a handgun and an assault rifle with over a dozen magazines, as a fucking arsenal with potential to kill.

Dylan Morgan you are right, it makes me sick how this people dont respect guns, that kind of firepower falls in to the wrong hands and hell breaks lose, but i guess that, over there, wherever that call of dutty expert is from, they dont have gangs or drug lords, they believe they have seen violence because they see cnn every morning, wait till you feel the stench of half burned human brains mixed with tear gass and smoke from burning tires then you will learn that guns are not toys or objects of amusement and violence must be handled by experts that knows its effect.

Braulio Almonte Your making me laugh so hard, like criminals need to steal a car to get heavy weapon. What he is carrying is a toy with what is available in the street if you have the cash.
@braulioe.almonte94239 жыл бұрын
Alex Cardosa really men, and how you think those things got to the street in the first place, do you think they bought it on a store and then sold it illegally on the streets, I can see that you are an expert in the subject now, but hey don't believe me just google what is the percent of guns involved in violent crimes that are stolen from civilians who like to play JI-JOE

Hey Eric nice set up man. I have a similar kit in my truck but have a Recce type AR15 and around 1,000 rounds in place of ur 74. I too keep extra clothes in my day bag just in case. I still need more first aid. My med bag is a little light on necessary items. I feel like being. Ring prepared for any situation is a smart way to operate. Good on ya for being ready. Keep putting out the great videos man.
