Just got mine yesterday, 6 of them! & I can’t see any but one in a little cave 😂 I did lower the water line & there is a little lip at the top but it is open top because I have a Monstera growing out. 🥺 I looked everywhere on the floor & don’t see any. I built a rock structure on the Monstera side & there’s a ton of hiding places and the sandy substrate. I’m hoping they’re all just hiding & I didn’t lose them already! Those breeding colors are amazing & I hope to see them. Thank you for this video!

Very informative. You don't find much info on these guys. Just how mature does a tank have to be for gobies? I have a 20 gallon (80L) tank that was set up almost two months ago. I seeded it with sand from a cycled aquarium, I have ferns, bacopa, anubias, water lettuce, sagitaria, rocks and mopani wood. The only inhabitants right now are three nerites and one mystery snail. Before the snails went in, I treated the tank with a double dose of fertilizer each week, high light and bacter AE every other day and was successful in growing algae and a visible coating of biofilm all over the glass. If the parameters are good can I go ahead and put three gobies in or should I wait some more? Thanks in advance for your advice. I want to do what's best for them.
@KrishsAquariums3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I would say 3 months to establish good biofilm and algae growth. As long as you see algae growth I think it would be okay to add them as they will have something to graze on!

Can someone tell me the difference between the semioni and the Atropurpureus? Which one is the more “rare” one?

Atropurpureus will have more of black on the body and especially on the fins when the males are in their breeding colours! I’d say at least in the UK Atropurpureus is rarer than semioni!

They get a little bit of a belly when full. Just keep on eye on them over the next few weeks. Sometimes they get parasites and that can make them very skinny really quickly

Anyone can keep those fish without any water changes what so ever. It is totally unnecessary to do weakly water changes except if you don't intend to get 50 gobies in a 10 gallon tank(witch is a bad idea on it's own for any fish). Only thing you need is a good substrate layers for perfect cycle, many plants and stones, good water flow and less feedings. My tank is 200 liters, inner filter 1000 liters per hour. I only add water after evaporation. Simple 2 layer substrate.
