I would besides saving all the time get a UPS unit. I was a SysAdmin working on production systems and we had UPS units so if a power outage we had enough power to shut down system properly so nothing is lost. There are all sizes of UPS from small units about the size of a shoebox on up to ones for an entire house. They also double as power conditioner to make sure you computer are on clean stable power. So don't lose work get a UPS so you have time to save and shutdown gracefully.
