I am increasingly keen on getting a Bremont watch. I hope to visit the boutique when in London over the summer.

Like it or not, u must admire new brands(without rich history) like nomos and bremont... they really try to create their own history and path... not easy, maybe can take decades, but they both doin into the right directions..

Hendra Gouw and they have to fight against the watch community always preferring "provenance".

Very cool niche story for a brand whose designs are quite unique. I hope they try marketing their product differently. I'm not a fan of their watches using airplane canvas or a piece of a vintage rare material which drives up the production cost. Learn from Tudor, they were reasonable purchases even before they made in-house movements.

The day Bremont powers their watches with in-house movements (for real) I'll bite. Until then, I can't see their value proposition, specially considering Omega's current line up.

It's weird that an entry level brand like Christopher Ward can buy their way into an in-house movement, but Bremont with their massive margins can't afford to do so.
@varunu41765 жыл бұрын
Maybe watchmaking is a bit more expensive in England than it is in Switzerland.
@gyang3335 жыл бұрын
@@varunu4176 Christopher Ward is based in England...
@varunu41765 жыл бұрын
@@gyang333 Yes but aren't they Swiss made unlike Bremont? I was thinking if sourcing the parts and hiring people to work on timepieces is easier and more affordable on Switzerland compared to England. Christopher ward is possibly from England just like Breguet and Rolex is an English company. Correct me if I'm wrong :)
@gyang3335 жыл бұрын
@@varunu4176 I am unsure if their SH21 movement watches (in-house movement) says Swiss Made or not (I think they do), but Bremont watches also say Swiss Made on their dials, as the movement comes from ETA/Sellita. The remainder of the watch is assembled in England like Bremont though with obviously cheaper parts and finishing.

CW bought SH to achieve in house status. Either way, watchmakers can do quite a lot with an ETA.

I want to like them... but an English watch with a French name is just lame. I'll stick with Christopher Ward. I hope this guy overcomes whatever health problem he is dealing with.
