Glad to finally see a Bremont on the channel. This is one of the brands that really speaks to me.

I have 4 Bremont’s , latest being the 1918 and they are all superbly built watches and easily go up against the bigger boys. I have Omega’s and two rolex subs so I can compare easily . Each to their own of course but I would definitely say they are worth the money in my opinion .

I have a Bremont Solo - the quality easily compares with Rolex and Omega and exceeds Tudor. I love my Tudor Black Bay but it isa boit of a scratch magnet. The Bremont shrugs off scrqatches and looks near perfect after two years of regular wearing. I think they are relatively good value.

Thank you Tristano for your great review. I’ve have just been presented with a Bremont SUPERMARINE S300/BR BLUE for my 70th birthday, lucky me. I am very impressed indeed with the quality of build, the aesthetics and the excellent finish. It is a Very comfortable fit on my smaller wrist due to the 40mm diameter size and the excellent unique case design- no rear bulge like some automatics. The accuracy and attention to detail is stunning. I am well aware of the comments on it being overpriced and the confusing modified/in house movement claims etc. etc. However I felt like supporting a British company with the courage to start their own brand. I could go on and on but just wished to make a defensive complementary comment/statement. “If one loves something, it’s worth the price”

I really do get the Bremont brand and story and I think that they are a welcome addition to the luxury watch market. I recently purchased a S301 and I am very happy with the watch. For me, the 40mm Dia Bezel is perfect fit as I do have a smaller than average wrist size. The watch is a classic, understated design that I think will still look 'classically modern' for years to come. This was my first purchase after many years of evaluating similar products. Sure, I could have purchased a Rolex or a Omega, but in the end I opted for the Bremont due to me believing in this small, but up-and-coming company. I notice that some of the comments below criticise Bremont for using a purchased Swiss movement. Personally I do not have a problem with this. Bremont should be praised for working to bring more of the manufacturing back into the UK. Surely this is a good thing. We should be supporting and encouraging any UK company that is investing in it's future. I have every confidence that Bremont will go from strength to strength. Come on guys, let's get behind this British company.

I just purchased the Bremont MB II whilst in the Caribbean this spring. It sports the larger 43 mm Trip-Tick case, hardened with the mat finish, day and date ( interestingly the day is available in both English and French - how cool is that?!), and the internal roto-click bezel. It has two actuators, at 2 and 4, and I just love it. I put down my Breitling Blackbird to wear it and haven't picked up the Breitling since. My wrist is about 6 3/4" in circumference so it wears well. Pop a MB II on your wrist and see what I mean. Clean and understated, and very classy!

Great video TGV. I tried on an S301 a couple of months ago and loved it, it was so comfortable on the wrist and the styling was fantastic. However, the big issue is the price, it's £800 more than the new Black Bay Fifty Eight and as such I'm now on the wait list for one of those. It's a real shame as I love the idea of a watch made in the UK but at that price, its a no go for me.

Beautiful watches, although I still think that they are overpriced. Sure, I don't know everything that goes into making a watch, but do I really care? No, because I only care about the product itself. If a company decides to produce their watches in Dubai for example, so be it, but I'm not willing to pay a premium for that. A lot of Micros offer a lot more value/$, so there is no reason for me to waste money on a Bremont. If they halved their prices I might consider buying one, but they ask too much. This applies to many big brands too. Of course, these are just my opinions.
@bighands695 жыл бұрын
How exactly are they overpriced? They are made by a small company with an aviation background. They are also produce some of the toughest watches out there. I have the Supermarine and it has gone through some brutal usage when scuba diving.

Big fan of the channel. Always interesting and informative content. I in fact own a Bremont S2000. It’s a big watch but I think it suits my big wrists. Watches are very well made and can withstand a beating. I daily my Bremont on a construction site and there are barely any signs of wear. I purchased mine from an AD in South Africa for way below retail. I did have an issue with the quick set date during the warranty period, however the watch was sent back to the UK for repairs and was back in my hands within a few weeks with no charge for the repair or transport costs. I must disagree with most people and say that they’re good value, considering the toughness, refinement and customer service provided by Bremont, especially when paying around 3800 US from an AD. Big discounts can be had, in South Africa at least. Keep up the good work.

At last! GREAT video!!! Nice one TGV!!!! Spot on! Glad you saw the Bremont for what it is and objectively reviewed it rather than having a clouded view on them without knowing really what or who they are. A video that speaks of Bremont in a positive manner (there are others, but the comments and direction of them usually have some element of criticism....and yes, you guessed it, the price is the major issue...). I have owned a Solo now for about 18 months and I ADORE it. I was in the market for a higher end watch as tribute to both my father and father in law who died 3 weeks apart and were both engineers and adored watches. It was a toss up (with the money available to me) between an Omega AT and a Bremont. I saw both and hands down the quality and engineering of the Bremont shone through. The movement, yes, I get. Omega with the Co-axial etc was a big big draw. But in the flesh, the Bremont had it. Those lugs, the shine and finish of the crystal and the burgeoning and rapidly appearing legacy and history (will be even bigger when the eventually get to make their own in-house movement solely in England) sold the Bremont to me. And I absolutely do not regret it. The Omega for me was a "it can wait" watch. The Bremont was a "must have now" watch. The price issue though.....lets address this.....economy of sales. Simple as that. Omega, Rolex, Tudor etc all chuck their watches out at an astonishing rate. By no means does this mean they are inferior or badly put together etc, but Bremont make no more than 8-10K watches a year.....probably a fraction of the numbers the big names make. Yes Rolex have in house movements and have that history, so charge accordingly. Omega too. But their numbers are high. But, if you take recent Tudors (their own in house movement notwithstanding), they were also based on ETA movements, modified to their own standards, as like Bremont. Yet their numbers are vastly higher, but the prices aren't much different. So, why criticise a smaller, lower volume but high end manufacturer on price when a company like Tudor is doing the same with higher numbers and the backing of one of the biggest names in the business? Nobody bats an eyelid at their costs. Then you have the engineering. Is a Tudor (or many others for that matter) made as well? The super hardened steel, the super hardened crystal (patented by the way), the clever case engineering with the shock resistance and the three piece case etc....its all clever stuff that is a little bit beyond what most are offering. Package this, with the economies of sale........should price be an issue or concern? It shouldn't be. Bremont, slightly biased as I may be, are worth every penny I feel when you take it all into consideration. And see one in the flesh.......you see where the quality is. Keep up the great work! Adore your vids! Must watch stuff for me every time!

Christopher Ward a more cost effective English watch maker have their own in-house SH21 movement, which is a certified chronometer and also includes an incredible 120 reserve! I do enjoy Bremont watches and I live locally here in Henley but Christopher Ward offer the same quality at a much more affordable price.
@Crisisbiker6 жыл бұрын
I would politely suggest that the quality of the Bremont is better and I love the aviation blend with the dive watch and the history associated with the Supermarine seaplane, however I do agree with you that fundamentally that Christopher Ward offer (much) better value for money.
@petersilk5 жыл бұрын
Christopher ward just pay a company Synergies Horlogères to make a movement and let them call it in house. Mere trickery with words. Bremont make more of their watch than half of the omegas out there. They are passionate about reviving British watchmaking, the ex world capital of world watchmaking. CW are just 3 businessmen with no prior experience in the watch industry still getting the Swiss to make their pieces. Not coach certified..

The complaint about modified ETA movements has always been silly to me. Lots of brands (example Panerai) are built on their watch designs, not the movements. Plus, if you're buying an expensive watch, it's nice to know the service is cheaper because it has a more common movement. Loved the video and Bremont has lots of great pieces. Beautiful watches, TGV. But don't you think that the price is a bit steep for ETA-powered timepieces? At that price point, would a Tudor Black Bay not make more sense?
@andrewchesterong65775 жыл бұрын
i love this brand, and before i went out and bought one i did a lot of reading on them, yes they got into trouble with their claims for an In house movement, and for that they did came out and apologised, not many brands will go out and do that. but the most complaint is that one is paying tons of money for a watch with an ETA movement. many people forget that ETA movements comes in different grades and each grades varies in price. IWC uses a modified Valjoux 7750 in many of their Pilot Chrono. i know this as i own one of IWC's Pilot chronos. you can also get a premium level ETA 2893 movement in a steinhart and for less. and yet steinhart makes wonderful watches.. the fact is several other brands uses ETA and their prices are not similar. If Helmut Sinn was able to market a tough, reliable and eventually iconic Pilot chronograph with links to the post war Luftwaffe, then he was able to do so successfully without relying on advertising or marketing . Bremont, on the other hand followed the Rolex and Omega playbook of using flashy marketing technics including "Brand Ambassadors" this may be a turn off to some watch enthusiasts, but that is how the game is played. But lets take a moment to really look into the watch. since i own the Alt1-ZT/51 i can say that Bremont's watches are extremely well made, being able to use Martin Baker's name in their watch line is a big deal as Martin Baker is a no nonsense company and Bremont was very successful at making a robust watch able to meet Martin Baker's strict requirements. yes Bremont is not cheap, but one can get used ones for a much more affordable price. but as a watch enthusiast, Bremont ticks my list of what i wanted in a watch, that is Build quality, toughness, reliability and yes in my view, very nice watches that are not too flashy. on the subject or in house movements, to be able to make an in-house movement meant a huge amount of money and R&D and clearly bremont has been doing so, it will not happen overnight and they may even have to strike some kind of partnership with other makers (Tudor partnered with Brietling for their in house chrono movement) but it is clear that bremont is investing on eventually being able to make in house movement, and that is something i would respect. Bremont's aim at having their own in house movement is not a gimmick it is a a very difficult task and i hope they will eventually pull it off, Bremont simply got too excited and prematurely announced that they have an in house movement and that was rather unfortunate. I am confident that they will eventually be successful

Awesome video! The quality and content of your channel continues to increase with every post. Big fan of your commentary which I find compelling and sincere, even if I don't always agree....however I agree 100% with your assessment of Bremont. I have owned their flagship model, Alt1-C chronograph, for about a year. Yes, the price is a tad high relative to some comparable brands but when you consider their huge manufacturing investment in the UK to support 10,000 unit annual production, it makes sense. I couldn't be happier with the way the watch wears on the wrist. I have small wrists as well and despite the chunky first impression it looks amazing on my wrist. Get tons of compliments. Craftsmanship is truely top notch. .it is very durable and accuracy is remarkable...gains less than a few seconds a month. In fact I use it as a reference for setting the IWC, PP, JLC and BP timepieces in my collection! I Have met the English brothers and think they are really great chaps who have established an amazing brand despite a lot of criticism (which often seems unfair and unwarranted). You should do a review of the Alt1-C...I think you would like it. Keep up the great work!

Great video! .... I recently purchased the Broadsword Recon and I am loving it so far. The scratch resistance and durability are a big thing for me as I only have two watches (the other is a Sinn U50 S Black) so they both get worn in all conditions. I have owned Breitlings, Omegas, Rolexes, Tags, Tudors and many others and I have to say my Bremont is on par and in some ways (at least in my opinion) even better than some of the offerings from those brands. I also love the idea that they're as you said unpretentious and that you don't see everyone that has some extra cash to spend on a watch wearing them.

Splendid review .. just splendid . I like the S301but it is expensive. I might go for the Black Bay 58 instead , without the date though.

+CM Chong Black bay 58 is a nice watch but it is at the same price as the Bremont.

I love my S300 with its blue sunburst dial. I also have a Lancaster on order for later this month. The Hercules is a really really beautiful watch too.

Great video. Very interesting and as usual I learn so much from your videos. The S301 is gorgeous. I would like to have a British timepiece in my collection. Cheers.

Great 'in depth' review of Bremont's dive watch.

Love the intro, 100 years of the RAF, and the image of an aircraft around the globe. Possibly that aircraft saved Europe from a very dark Future. A friend from the UK

Tony Hill people tend to only mention the BoB yes what you said was indeed true for the early part of the war, however later in the war and throughout the globe it was deployed to a greater effect. In a world war an aircraft is not effective unless it occupies every theater. It was gifted to all the Commonwealth countries, a few ended up in Russia and was favoured even over the Yak 3, some were given to the Americans even. It was the most influential and probably the best aircraft of the war.

Rogue Disruptor this was a comment about the light that was saved from the darkness of a far right ideology. I do not expect a comment about far right propaganda on a otherwise honest comment. Nobody is an Alien. Everybody is welcome. Do not promote hatred of other people's on a video about watches.
