True Men of War who have no connection to anything outside of war often tend to view dying in battle as the only fitting end for a warrior. Hells Angels really are just a group of thugs so I don't think they really fit that category, but true warriors, both ancient and modern, view death in a much different light than most. A great example is Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now or the Ebony Knight in Skyrim.

The real problem here isn't really the Hells Angels, its the State's over reaction to their activities. For all intents and purposes, HA is an International, autonomous NGO, with a flexible, functional decentralised administrative structure that operates in the same way as Interpol. Shared intel, diplomacy, enforcement, and structured protocols that ensure protection of affiliated trade agreements. Thing is, because of the de-centralised power structure, each franchised chapter/branch can operate and act quickly and efficiently to ensure that their basic economic niche remains fully functional, with 'in house' handling of distribution, supply, and manufacturing issues. Ostensibly, the markets for illegal/recreational drugs have to be regulated somehow. State legislative sanctions mean that these markets traditionally and historically have to operate within a fairly tight remit with its own, grey economic base. These markets/services are always designated by governmental sanctions. An organisation like HA can only exist outside of State sanctions, catering for markets that the State either cannot or will not regulate. And our markets, provincial, national and international are *all* structured around the same two principles. Whether those markets are legal or illegal, they are ultimately ruled by supply and demand. The two hands of every economic transaction ever. If there is a demand for something, there will be someone supplying that demand. And State legislation stands in the path of economic functionality. By attacking the supply chains and not addressing the issues of demand, the State creates organised criminal structures like the HA, or the Mafia. Booth of which operate internationally, smoothly, and with an efficiency that cannot be matched by the State, bogged down as it is by clumsy, inefficient bureaucracy. (Jobs for the boys) Legality and criminality are both defined by The State, ostensibly to regulate the smooth operation of the market and economy. Yet the only result has been the growth of a black economy that doesn't have to operate to any rule but its own. And HA have managed to do this successfully in every Western Nation with far less problems than *any* government. What we want government for, is to organise and and maintain the infrastructure of an operational market. Supply and demand working together, hand in hand to generate the economic wealth that binds us *all* together in willing participation. If the State operated the markets properly, then all the component parts would mesh neatly together without artificially inflated "Us + them" mentality. Hells Angels (and every other successful, international 'crime' organisation) *are* governments, only more efficient, less intrusive, and entirely self regulating.
