I think the non 24 hour stores are an example of work life balance and that’s a good thing. I wonder why NZ doesn’t do their own version of IKEA. So off topic, but I think you recommended the jimmy choo floral, which I bought and I fricken looooovvveee it! And then you also recommended a Marc Jacobs Daisy but I can’t remember which one, please help! I can’t remember if it’s the bottle with the flour as a lid or if it’s the one that has flowers on the bottle!!

The sea snakes very rarely found on NZ beaches are victims of cyclones and current in the tropics, I recall one being found on a west Auckland beach a few years back, it was almost dead and euthanised by authorities, they said it would have died anyway as the waters around NZ are too cold for them and the type of food they require are not available in our waters.

New Zealand is a great country to choose a new life or start building a family, if someone just decided their own country just isn’t the right place for them, here there’s not a lot of wildlife to bother you, very strict with the guns, and of course how we stopped covid from taking hold of the country. I can see why someone maybe in America, whether it’s just an ordinary person or possibly even one of a celebrities kids, if he thinks America is not the right place for him, or if he’d prefer to start a family somewhere else because of a number of things with America that were bothering him a lot, and then America’s response to covid just shattered him and he left the country, he just left and now lives in New Zealand

@meganmills6545
@meganmills6545 3 жыл бұрын
Yes of course, we have people from all over the place in the world who have moved here. But among the people I live and work and socialise with in NZ we don't talk about someone being black or brown or white etc. If you're a citizen, or have just lived here quite a number of years, then you're a Kiwi. You might have Nigerian or Ugandan or Chinese or Indian or Turkish or Irish or French or what-have-you family history or culture and when we draw distinctions it's more an acknowledgment of the different cultures we have and the different places we or our families came from than the colour of our skin. What's interesting about someone is the kinds of foods they eat and holidays they celebrate and so on. It's probably because one thing we all have in common, even our indigenous people, is that we undertook long journeys from far away across the sea to get here. The Maori (sorry my Maori friends, I don't know how to put the macron in!) only arrived sometime a little over 700 years ago (we currently think) - so for virtually everyone in NZ it's not really very long ago our ancestors came here, even if we were born here ourselves. You'll find the greatest concentrations of different cultural communities in the larger cities and the further south you go the less diverse it gets, broadly speaking. (It takes those with things like the hardy Scots genes to stand the cold winters down there - cold by NZ standards that it is - people from warmer climes tend to like the North Island climate a bit better, that's my tongue-in-cheek working theory anyway). :-)
