You know what? I wanna buy a cup of coffee to the person who make this video, really thankful for all the video you made. Cheers!

Instead of guessing units in autocad just type UNITS and remove all doubt. When you paste the CAD plan just paste to 0,0 coordinates. Thanks for the video! Your tutorials really help

When importing AutoCad into Revit make sure you do the following: 1) Overkill command in autocad. Gets rid of double lines, 2) proxygraphics set to 1 in autocad. 3) no not import dwg bring your main revit file. Import into a temp project file. Why? Bringing in autocad file especially from a manufacturer will add unwanted line types to your file. 4) use that temp file to modify your line weights. Just some basics. My pet peeve is complete details drawn with filled regions - Lazy drafting!

I just spent 2 days fixing 2 details that were exactly as you described. Now the company can take my new details and easily modify them for other projects.

Before this video I used to open cascaded windows of autocad and revit to create the layout in the latter. This saves a lot of time and energy, better used for more productivity. You make learning fun with your laid-back approach and sense of humour. Thank you so much for this

Thank you for sharing the video, one thing I would suggest that set the same reference point on both the floors (command L enter 0,0 ) so that u will never face this issue again of not overlapping plans.
@Noerg663 жыл бұрын
The Reason why the plans are not on the same postion is that you move the origin in the AutoCAD-Files and so you have a BKS. But Revit looks for the WKS, so you must move the drawing to the origin point 0,0,0 in the AutoCAD Drawing.

If your struggling to import the CAD section using the method above, suggest you create a new 'Generic Model Family' and import the CAD drawing into the family on an Elevation view. You can then load the family into your main Revit project and move it to where it needs to go

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) is a type of technology that creates digital models of buildings and project sites. Architects, engineers, and contractors use VDC models to visualize and plan building designs, processes, schedules, budgets, and more. VDC technology allows companies to analyze construction plans from start to finish before breaking ground.

Dude, you are good, please keep up the good work. One comment I have is, if it would be better to use a highlighted cursor. Like, in this video, at from 08:30, you applied the Align function. I went back a few times but could not find how you did it. With a highlighted cursor, it would have been visible. I could not track your cursor. One more very important aspect of your video, No Music in the background. Just wonderful how your voice is the only thing heard, no distraction. Thanks for your good work.
