Rebecca, I have learned so much from your videos and have been decluttering one step at a time. I live in a 600 square foot cabin. I too have thrown things into a drawer or taken boxes of items I don’t want to deal with out to our storage. Though in the moment it feels good to have an area clean, the box comes back to haunt me!!! The weight of my “stuff” is real!!!! I just keep downsizing one moment, one day, one drawer, one bookshelf or one closet at a time! Thanks for the motivation and great tips!

Sounds like you are thriving in your minimalist journey! One day, one drawer at a time is a great way to declutter without overwhelming yourself 💜

Thank you for sharing your attic story that's exactly how I feel. Everyone thinks I'm so organized and minimal but I know what I have regardless of how new or contained it is, so me saying I'm not fully the minimalist that I want to be means that I still know what I have to get rid of and I have to go through the process and not just hide it like a squirrel.
@RebeccaSisson2 жыл бұрын
It’s tough because it’s so easy to just hide it all away and try to forget about it!

Just want to echo what others have said below that you are the top tier of minimalist, conscious living vloggers and I miss your advice when you take a break. Not sure if you have thought about Patreon or other means of letting people leave a tip, but I would definitely do so for your product reviews alone. Be well!

Ur such an influence in my minimalism journey, with habits of having clutter/stuff on the counter… I’ve put so many of your techniques to use , just cleaned out my closet again, I do it a. Few times of year it just makes me feel so much better, I can be honest w myself knowing I haven’t worn certain stuff for so long

Your attic storage reminds me of that episode of Friends where you find out Monica has a junk closet.

I think i may shop more when i feel like my space is cluttered and i feel stuck fixing for the moment, or i have to wait, i want to feel productive, but bringing more into a cluttered space is going to make it worse lol.

It now takes me only an hour to clean my small house. This was my aim for decluttering. Also I have no decision fatigue over clothes - all tops will go with all bottom halves ( apart from a couple of smart dresses). I can have hair brushed, teeth cleaned, be dressed and ready to go and do somat interesting in 10 mins ( add an extra 10 mins for a shower! Lol) I so agree with all your tips. BTW I now have shopping and debate over buying stuff for ages ( currently its a new sofa -previous one is over 25 years old!)

Great tips! Your attic is my storage room and garage. The issue is that almost all of it isn’t mine it’s my husband’s. So many delayed decisions 😬. When we eventually move out of this house so much of it will have to go. But he isn’t on board with making decisions now if we have the space to keep things. I try not to get too frustrated with that but it’s difficult

But how do you do this when you are the only one who wants declutter and you live with someone who cannot part with anything?
@jemma502 жыл бұрын
That's a tough one, for sure. You can only declutter your own stuff, so hopefully, you have a designated space just for you so you can go in there and breathe when you are overwhelmed by your partner's clutter. ;) Makes me glad I live alone, not gonna lie. LOL
@RebeccaSisson2 жыл бұрын
I agree with Jemma! Also, I’ve found a lot of success by just leading by example. When loved ones and family see the benefits they will sometimes start to reflect on their own habits. It’s a slow process, but even claiming small, decluttered spaces in your home as “yours” can help. ❤️
