1 month ago I randomly went from horde to alliance to play with a mage friend and his healer. They already had synergy in 2s at 2k-ish rating. Low and behold. We got to 2350 rating in 2 evenings as an odd comp. Surv-fire-mw. Don't be afraid to break the mold, find new ways and above all play to have fun. Our goal was 2000 for elite gear and we got way further than that. Aiming 2.4k now for next season :) What made me a better player this year is definately getting used and liking arena 123 macros. I barely use focus macros anymore. If you don't like it like me, force yourself. It's so worth it!

I haven't tested it but the OPie addon looks ideal for arena targeting. You can have one ring for main target and one for focus. Party members left, enemies right, placeholders top and bottom. You can even hide buttons with macro conditionals like [@arena3, exists].

Very educational Savix. I wish WoW was still in its PvP golden age when you could learn the enemy by dueling your heart out in front of Stormwind or Org. I sat out there for hours dueling every class and learning what their abilities and cool downs did to counter them in order to get better. It was addictive once you understood it all and it was a lot easier back in the day. :( Garrisons pretty much destroyed this and to this day Duelotar is still a dead waste land.

Wow.... Long time fan, finally got my Paladin up to max since i came back and decided to check the worlds best Paladin for some advice before hoppin into PvP. Been on and off since BC, always loved PvP compared to other content and... This is the first time ive realized theres a button to just target or auto focus Arena enemies. I had macros to /focus and would click on one, focus it, then go back to his friend. Wasn't difficult, but it ate up precious seconds. And bam, here it is. Didn't just help my Paladin, helped my entire PvP experience. All hail High Lord Savix.

yeah, Reporting back after a couple skirmishes. Its insane how much difference that one thing made. I've had to completely redo my macros and keybinds, and its going to be some time before I'm comfortable my controls again, but I already feel the difference.

Old vid but great advice. But with the macros, having target blind, then 1,2,3 is nuts. Then add that with kick, gouge, sap, shadowstep feels nuts. Beeing fast at swapping focus target by having that keybound is still decently good right? And you dont have to change macros for bgs/wpvp etc.

Yes u make 3 kick macros. I personally use r for kicking. So kick anemy 1 is r, kick enemy 2 is shift r and kick enemy 3 is alt r. Thats how i do it.

Do I need to make a macro for each spell and each arena target? What I mean by this is, say I want to make my silence spell a macro for all 3 arena targets. I hear what you're saying about the arena targeting buttons and macros and keybinds. But doesn't that setup interfere with other things in game like mythic dungeons, open world pvp, raiding and battlegrounds. I've been watching vids like this, and it seems like it's impossible to have ONE setup(Targeting/macro keybinds) for all types of gameplay in WoW(Arenas, bgs, dungeons, raids). It feels like there are not enough buttons. :/

Any recommendations for a 2k xp player? I been using all ur tips for yrs. But cant actually get my 2k achieve. :( 1975 actually my exact highest xp. Been this high on both my classes. I main rsham and rdruid. Typically i play one or the other for a whole season or two seasons to avoid keybind confusion. If i play the other class i find i missclick things so i stay with one class at a time. I know everybody says stick with one toon/spec till u get glad. But if im being honest i get freakin bored of same class allll the time. Played shaman since early vanilla, picked up druid in wod.

How exactly do u memorize which target is arena1/2/3 and react fast enough? As for me I'm playing with target binds for a week now for like 6 hours a day, and I'm still confused every time. It goes like this: 1) I look at the player I want to target now. 2) I find him on my gkadius interface. 3) I figure out which arena player (1/2/3) he is. 4) I press the button. Dude, it takes like 10 times more effort, than just: 1)look at the player 2) click at him in that exact instance/press tab 1 time if u r melee. Wtf am I doing wrong?
