Hi Follygon, I love this video, all you say is totally true, I started my journey 3 years ago, and I'm still learning and fighting, just to be able to start as a Junior character Artist in the videogame industry. I't is not easy, my firsts sculpts were bad, very bad, and they are still bad, but I'm starting to see the improvement I'm doing and that's what keeps me pushing. For me whatching a very good artist motivates me, as I try to think "this will be me in the future if I keep going". Keep creating content, you are very good and you work very hard!!!

What is included in the 30 day challenge? Is it only text prompts or are there some kind of pictures as well?
@Follygon
@Follygon 3 жыл бұрын
It is purely text, although there are a couple images to illustrate two specific topics more clearly. There are no prompts necessarily. More so assignments and information on the methodology. Overall, it is a daily exercise routine that you should do for at least 30 days and is designed for those that are ready to put in the work necessary to grow quickly.

Alright but let's say I'm a new artist,want to try zbrush, my trial already expired before I gathered enough of motivation and only after few months when I finished some blender tutorials I feel urge to learn. What do I do? Zbrush is crazy expensive so is there any version you'd recommend?

There's a file in the download that is lacking a type. I don't know how to open it.
@Follygon
@Follygon 3 жыл бұрын
It is a plain text file. (.txt). You can open this is any text program. If you don't know how to do this, manually type (.txt) at the end of the file and then a simple double click will open it. I will update it to automatically do this in the future.
@Velzp

I decided to accept this challenge, but inside there is one file without a type, can you tell its type to open it correctly?
@Follygon

You can open it with any text editor. I sent out an update to do this automatically for those that do not know how to do this. You should have received an email with the updated files.

You can get a free trial of Zbrush for 30 days from their website. If you still don't wanna do it, blender will still work, you can carry over the techniques from zbrush to blender or vice versa. You just have to get going and start sculpting. Since blender is free, you can have a lot more time figuring out how to do stuff than if you get the free trial of Zbrush.

@@Follygon however those of the class said is was unacceptable modeling for the time I put in, "showing no growth" in their words . Basically many years and I'm still no where good Vs some of them. They put half a year and less time to surface my 7 years or more of sculting 😬. Not a good feeling

How many years or months took for you to reach this level..? I started sculpting few months ago, I really really like ur sculpts... So I just want a general idea tho..😁
@Follygon
@Follygon 3 жыл бұрын
I have found over the years that time is a horrible indicator of experience. You could be sculpting a few times a week, a few times a month, or you could be sculpting for hours every single day. When I had been sculpting for a year or two, I was passing people that had been doing it "much longer than me." But in truth, I had been doing it much more every single day than them. Instead, I recommend that you ask about people's level of experience. This also gives a chance to hear a more open ended answer. I have been sculpting almost every single day, for multiple hours, for the past 6ish years.
