My dream is to become a voice actor one day, and I know it’s not an easy goal to achieve…so I have been finding advice from other voice actors online, and it helps a lot, especially your advice and tips. They have really helped me a lot, and it makes a lot of sense, if you think about it. So thank you bryan for the tips/advice on how to voice act and stuff, I really appreciate it! 😁

My wife is pretty talented with voices herself. She can do a lot of different accents and so on. Sadly much like what is ruining the music industry, she did try out for a voice role and despite the fact that the woman who got the role was just there just for fun and was no good at doing the voice and it's not just my wife saying it she told me that the other people who tried out for the role saw that she sucked, I guess because she was blonde and had big boobs the people in charge of whatever production it was decided that she should get the role. It's pretty messed up. I hope someday my wife can land a roll, but to be honest she hasn't really been looking as of late so I'm not sure what to say on that. I thought about voice acting myself. I feel with my low tone of voice I probably could voice a scary villain, but I also understand that I am required to have the right emphasis and I am not 100% sure whether I am good at that or not since I've never been hired for any voice acting role before or even try it out for one. Since I'm from wine country just an hour North of San Francisco I guess maybe I could find something down in San Francisco or Oakland or San Jose or something or maybe even in my hometown of Santa Rosa which is way smaller in comparison but still relatively large at 175,000 people. But I think it comes down to the fact I should actually be trying to look which I haven't really been doing. My fear of failure really does get to me. It's A hard feeling for me to overcome. I unfortunately also lack patience as well. That said however, I think I should take to heart what you said at the end about how about at least trying before you realize you can't or at least figure out maybe you can

I was wondering how you would do a spooky, deep, gollum type voice? I've heard so many of your voices over the years but I can't recall something like intense. Like a cross between gollum and light yagami would be the best way I could describe what I'm looking for. I know you would find something amazing but I would really like to hear it ❤️

Really helpful tips, thanks Brian! I'm more aspiring to work in actual writing, directing, and production as far as tv goes, but voice acting and character work is something that's always fascinated me, so this helped a lot. As a request, in the future, do you think you could do some impressions from Amphibia? There's lots of exaggerated voice acting in that show, so I think a lot of the characters would give you a good challenge to attempt (i.e. Wally, Hop Pop, King Andrias, and some Frobo sounds). And if you haven't seen the show.... HOW??? It's Disney's greatest cartoon since Gravity Falls, and one of my personal favorite shows of all time. It's creative, beautiful, heartfelt, tense, INSANELY funny, and it's been a really fantastic and important show, standing out as one of the very best in recent memory. I think you'd enjoy it, and attempting impressions of some of the characters would be really fun. Congrats on being in Hotel Transylvania 4, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you! P.S. I heard Paul in the background at one point, reminded me of Bippity Boppity Bros, which is one of my favorite podcasts. It's so funny and instantly elevates my mood whenever I hear you guys just hanging out talking about Disney. Is it possible for you guys to pick up where you left off?

This is great advice, Brian! Thanks for making this video for those who are thinking of getting into voice acting. Have you considered doing reactions or analysis videos of “We don’t talk about Bruno” and/or “Surface Pressure” from Encanto? I’ve watched some vocal coaches analyze them, and it’s interesting to hear what they’re hearing and see how that sound gets made. Each vocal coach points out something different. These two songs are particularly character-driven, so it would be interesting to hear about them from your perspective as someone who is a classically-trained singer as well as a voice actor. No pressure to do them, just a thought!

Really great video! As someone who hopes to get into the voice acting industry one day, I agree that it is very important to be entertained or entertaining with everything that you do. It doesn't matter what kind of role you're given, protagonist or antagonist. Like me, for example. Even doing characters like Eustace Bagge from Courage or Dark Oak from Sonic X are entertaining to do, because even though I may not like the characters, I always know that I'm entertaining others by doing it. And I think that is a very important thing to keep in mind.

Not me just being completely shocked by the fact that he voiced the teenage Stabbington brothers. Because I'm currently re-watching the series right now (just got to season 3)! But this is amazing advice for everyone who wants to be voice actors! I think a lot of people forget that you should have fun with what you are passionate about. You try to turn it into the career you wanna go down, and you forget the reason why you started it in the first place. I've forgotten that multiple times as a musician who is currently their AFA in music.

Also, to point out and NOT rubbing it in, I am in a KZbin web video series called "The Unlikely Trio" and I voice the teacher, Mrs. Curtis.
