Thank you so much! I've been following your hair videos for a little while now. Recently though, I've had a substantial hair cut and that combined with me trying to use a diffuser during the winter/colder weather has had me in a bit of a tizz (and my hair in a bit of a frizz). I was about to give up on it but decided to revisit your videos which I find very helpful!!

Thank you for mentioning flour sack towels! What a great, affordable option. I am very nervous & hesitant to put so much product in my hair, AND while it's soaking wet! I'm gathering up the courage to try it on one of my upcoming wash days. Wish me luck! P.S. I really enjoy your personality and honesty about products. Thank you for taking time to make these videos. Sending love from Michigan, USA

Hey Sophia!! Thank you so much 💕💕💕 I use a ton of gel & my hair never looks producty... it gets really watered down in the shower & you end up losing more of it in your towel
@lindasue87193 жыл бұрын
I love flour sack towels! They are all I use (other than sometimes using a tshirt to do the scrunch). I've had a real problem with the great amount of product...not so much in my hair, but since it's soooo wet and full of product when I plop, gravity brings all that stuff onto my scalp. I ended up with a severely itchy scalp that wouldn't resolve for months. :( What I'm trying now is to add some product after the plpp (not the best option for maintaining the curl) or, I'm not bending over in the showier but just adding the product to my length....and I lean from side to side to add higher up. The latter is getting results that are alright...probably not as well as super-wet bent over head but it seems to be a good middle ground.

I wish this video had been posted a few days ago, I've already ordered the towel. Can't wait to get it and try it out. I find since watching your videos my curls are more defined, but it is taking forever to dry my hair I always air dried but I find applying the products to very wet hair prolongs the drying process. I'm really hoping the towel will help with the drying time. Love your videos.

If you do it when your hair is still really wet, you don’t need to finger-coil every single curl. I have TONS of hair and I finger-coil in about a dozen sections before I start scrunching and it makes a big difference (especially if I’ve used a Denman brush.)

Frizz is my biggest problem right now [especially since my curls are yet to have definition]. Thanks for these great tips!! Could you provide a link to the hairstylist you were talking about? Ok, I've got a question that has been bugging me. If we're not suppose to sleep on cotton pillow cases because of friction making frizz...how is a 100% 'cotton' t-shirt any different???
@CurlySusie5 жыл бұрын
I knew someone was going to ask that! Good question. When you squeeze water out of your hair with a tshirt it does rub against the hair shaft to an extent plopping wouldn’t cause as much because it is sitting still in the hair... when you sleep, you have the weight of your head pressing your hair into the pillow & as you change positions over the 6-8 hrs you are sleeping that adds up to a TON of friction/pull on your hair

Hi Susie I love all of your videos. Can you do a video on how to reduce scalp build up? I’m trying different products but still couldn’t get rid of it. Thank you and love you🤗
@cheekyb715 жыл бұрын
If you're getting build up you need to look at 2 things, are you certain you've removed *ALL* silicone from your routine? (Dimethicone, cyclopentosiloxane, etc) And when you're cowashing you should be massaging your scalp for around 5 minutes (i once read 5-10 minutes but found that too long) to encourage the natural oils to spread down the hair shaft - because of the texture of curly hair the oils don't tend to travel down the shaft naturally as with straight hair and so often build up on the scalp instead. And the only "product" I'd ever recommend for helping with this is an apple cider vinegar rinse, which also works as a deep conditioner as a bonus. You don't need to buy stuff or spend a tonne of money on your hair 😊👍

I actually love to use something a little bit stretchy to dry my hair. Currently i am using those cheap black yoga pants you can get at walmart or target, they are like 90 cotton 10 spandex i think? Anyway, i use tenporary hair color a lot so i need something solid black so i don't stain every t shirt in the house; but also i find that the pants stretch a little bit, so my hair doesn't wind up being stretched out by accident.
