Should I unclog a printhead with an ultrasonic cleaner? The answer is both "yes" and "no". If the cleaning is done properly, ultrasonic waves can clean items with irregular shapes and apertures, such as a printhead. However, it can also damage some models of printheads. The amount of times I have had mixed results using this thing, I really am glad you made this video, I hope this changes my success rate. Thanks. Strange enough when cleaning colored cartridges where magenta is good but the yellow and cyan are clogged sometimes I restore yellow and cyan then magenta goes.

If you ever want any old Epson printheads to experiment with. I have some DX5's and TFP (10 color) heads kicking around that are from old machines no longer in use. Really cool to look at under a microscope as well.

Hi Kevin, a perfect video as always. Nevertheless, one should be very careful not to overdo with an ultrasonic cleaner. I used a very similar 42kHz ultrasonic cleaner with a very stubborn clogged to death canon printhead for more than 10 min and it perforated the jets. Instead of tiny precise jets of cleaner I now have fountains of it on the print head bottom when I push to push it with a syringe. It did perforate not only the clogged color but others too.

The answer is more like "no", in most cases it results in failure; with Epson printheads it usually results in delamination of the nozzle plates because underlying glue is destroyed by ultrasonic waves. I doubt that it makes sense to clean resistive printheads at all, because the they are cheap.

Hello, a question so to clean an epson et2721 printer head in the ultrasonic tank I can't immerse it all? Or are there gaskets that would break? What temperature can it be set at?

I had a severely clogged print nozzle and print head from an Epson WF 7710. I separated the two parts (as you show in a different video). Three rounds in the ultrasonic cleaner worked like a dream for the nozzles. What do you recommend for the print head, since you said not use this method for that particular printhead. Boiled water won't heart hurt print head. And it help alot

why does my cartridge say damaged after refilling with ink, cleaned all the contacts and filled perfectly and primed it aswell.

Hi , I want to ask if incorrect printing , such as EPSON L805 print head, can be using this method , or it need to dismante l I had issue print this printing which the YELLOW can be tainteddwith Black... Then I use syringe with liquid special type of detergent, it still doesn't work I guess the valves inside is miss alignment due to the presure I pull the cleaning solution into it
