I was hyped for this lesson because it will help me build the attention to detail when I speak English. I got my head around the idea that avoiding filler words and unhelpful phrases is important. I love this idea because I tend to think that to keep talking and speak many phrases, even if they are white noise, sound smarter than making pause. I'll change my mind.

Oh, thank you Emma for the tips. I love to slow my speaking down at work and pronounce all the words clearly . In this way I sound like a native without too much effort. Love it.

How did you get over the fastness because I've struggled with it and I haven't been able to come over it
@guidoanichini87823 жыл бұрын
@@dnjosh10 I think there isn’t any universal methods. What I essentially did was to pronounce the words as much clearly as possible. And I have to admit, that when it comes to speaking slowly, there is more time to reflect on the sentences’ structure and connotation. It is really really helpful.

It's not that you're English is different than we're used to. But, you're unique, I listen to your pronunciation once a day. Hoping i can sound like you. Your articulation is sophisticated. And i like it. I want to be PROFESSIONAL like you. You're my English tutor role model!
@nacciomart45863 жыл бұрын
Hi Emma, how's it going? So you explain in this lesson what exactly I have observed: professionals speak clear: professors, lawyers, doctors, etc. They usually speak very clear. This got me confused because if I wanted to sound professional something told me that I had to speak clear and not so fast, but, I hear everywhere: if you want to sound like a native you have to spesk fast and connect the sounds. Now you clarify this confusion for me: professionsls speak clear because they want to be sure that their message has been fully understood. Thanks Emma and keep it up!! I liked it when you said "Let's get professional".😉

Thanks Emma, for this very good lesson! I work in a multinational company where I have to practise English everyday. When I have to ask someone to do a task for me, I usually ask using the expression "can/could you please do it?". One of the differences I noticed between American and Brazilian culture is the lunch time. In Brazil we have usually a one-hour lunch break, and we respect that break. In the US I saw that people go back to work as soon as they finish eating. Kind regards from south of Brazil! PS: last thing: your intonation looks very happy and enthusiastic to me.

It's really great and informative content, thanks Emma .. For me the hardest skill in English is speaking... I can easily understand any English videos 100% except for some American movies which I can only understand 80% .. Reading for me is also not a problem at all, sometimes I need to check some words.. writing is harder than reading and listening but at least you can use google translate to help you, I'm sure my writing is not professional but I hope it will improve someday ... In response to your question regarding your English at 4:50 ...for me you sound really excited but lately I see a little sadness in your eyes , Possibly due to the poor conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, including the closure, deteriorating economic conditions and restrictions on movement , I hope I'm wrong ...take care of your self Emma and have a nice day

The 3. language, which i have been learning ,is the english language.....and the grammatic of english for me is not too difficult but logic. This video is also highly recomended for intermediate or advanced students. The difficulty in english is the pronunciation. and every english students have to learn a lot from such a great teacher like you Emma, to avoid filler words and unhelpful phrases.And it is a great idea to slow down our speach.

Hi Emma. Intonation it's a big deal and I've also noticed that Russian people might sound rude because we often can't reproduce(if it's a correct word) the melody of the language. It's not easy for us to make those soft and smooth English vowel sounds.

Honestly your English is Perfectly Mellow and Clear and we love showing your videos to our kids so they'd be able to pick up some very useful tips on English Comm. We live in the UK in the Yorkshire area where I swear the first time I got here I thought their English sounded like a mixture between Yodelling and Mumble Rapping.
