front toe - toe out - negative value in AC = -0.10 to -0.20 rear toe - toe in - positive value in AC = 0.15 to 0.30 -> more rear toe = slow transition -> less rear toe = fast transition front anti-roll bar - 0 to 15,000 -> low front anti-roll bar = speed up car transition (snappy) -- too much low will make it spin on max angle -> high front anti-roll bar = slow transition down -- too much high will make it understeer on bigger angles rear anti-roll bar - 0 to 15,000 -> lower value will grip car when deceling but can make car not transition sometimes -> high value will make it snappy ---- low front anti-roll bar and high rear anti-roll bar is good practice front wheel rate -> higher wheel rate makes car more responsive to steering input and can make the car bounce too much over bumps and can cause understeer when deceling -> lower wheel rate makes the car feel spongy or numb -> 70 to 90 (66 to 86 is fine) -> high wheel rate can make a car faster in drift in some cases rear wheel rate -> lower value adds more grip but can make car bouncy over bumps -> higher value lessens grip ---- wheel rate changes ride height -> higher ride height = less negative camber and positive toe -> lower ride height = more negative camber and positive toe

I know incredibly little about cars and even less about AC but this explanation has helped me hugely in an attempt to help my partner set up his game the way he wants it, thank you for the translation to layman's terms!

This will help so many people get a better understanding of how tuning cars work, definitely would be a good idea to do a video on how to tune a specific car (eg a vdc car) so that people can get an even better understanding. Thanks for the videos

yeah I agree seeing him do it first hand than explaining what each thing do would give us a better example but I am glade he even made this because a lot of people don't make drifting tune help guides

This is what I’m talking about! Thank you so much!! As someone who knows just enough to get a line going I’ve struggled so much trying to “fine tune”. I kinda want to make an excel sheet with variables like this. (Car sliding out too much(a,b,c) etc.).

These setup tips work well for cars that have good physics models like the Gravy Garage pack but for the VDC cars I find that they require WAY more tuning to feel even close to normal. The VDC cars feel nothing like a real car for those of you wondering why they're so hard to drive.
@samueljones3668 Жыл бұрын
Me with VDC driving perfectly fine with this basic instruction, saying Gravy Garage has good physics is wild for cars with extreme angle kits and obscene tyres, second Diff Tuning and Brake Bias weren't mentioned but those help make these cars drive much better and third, sounds like a skill issue to me.
@nomeru_0 Жыл бұрын
gravy feels "normal" because they are a pack that is meant for beginners. Extremely forgiving cars that are almost impossible to mess up in. if your only point of reference is a 300hp party car than a car with a ton of power and sidebite shouldn't feel "normal" to you. I won't disagree that vdc cars are not realistic but its not for the reason's you likely think

I have tried every car pack I've heard fuzz about and must say FDC cars are as real as it gets to real life. Pack can be found in their discord. At first feels hard but if you got the skills, these cars will reward you when hitting that first 100% comp track

The biggest thing not addressed is how much force feedback people run this changes everything most people run almost negligible force-feedback they're not even really feeling the car
@tomsellout9576 Жыл бұрын
My issue is that my wheel oscillates really bad at 100% feedback. 60% is about max I can go and it’s only a 10nm DD. It’s just way too bouncy

As a professional drifter irl how would you say Assetto Corsa compares to real life because I feel like my very limited real life experiences do not match the experience I have in AC but everyone seems to swear it's 1:1 if not harder to drift in AC than real life. I feel like there's no way irl drifting can be as easy as it is in AC. Edit: I think it's worth saying I usually drift cars from packs like DWG or Excite, not Tando Buddies.
