Hello Maria. I've got an amazing idea for you. You could write a book about your experience at Vaganova Academy. You could put in the book like: Some curiosities and informations about the Academy, considerations and reflections, tales or things happened the in the school when you were there, or also maybe fun facts and just your experience written by a graduate

I have just done your 5 tips on pirouettes and found all your technical explanations and own experience comments GENIAL👌👌👌... applying the shoulder tip supporting the standing leg has stopped me straight away to over rotate while doing the pirouette and I can concentrate on the other very helpful tips👌🙏.... I have 2 further questions should they be relevant to other followers too: 1) the head position : where to look to and how many angles while turning (I tend to be dizzy after a while 😅)? 2) the number of turns : what is the trigger to keep on turning and can u control the number of turns u want to achieve (not that I am doing many right now😂)? 🙏💙♥️🙏💙♥️🙏💙♥️ have a good sunny weekend 🧡💛💚 from London😍😍😍

Very nice Maria! For me, I would add, when in position for pirouettes always keep your hips forward. This helps with balance and getting into/maintaining correct position for pirouette ( any kind ). Also, don't forget to spot the pirouettes! I find that if you use slightly less force and focus more on spotting you can execute five or six turns - easy! :) Lots of Love!

you're so wonderful.. i love this video! please help with en dedans turns? my teacher likes to do them in many positions. Hi, I have a question. My teachers say me to stay on my supporting leg, but, when I do it, one side of the hip goes up and the other side of the hip down😅.
@sky-lo8te3 жыл бұрын
hi! your teachers probably tell you that because it's a common mistake to focus on the passé leg instead of the supporting one. if you do that, your pelvis won't be balanced and the hip of the passé leg will go higher than the hip of the supporting one, and you'll lose your balance. that's why it's important to remember to push your supporting leg against the floor and keep it extended and turned out. however, this doesn't mean you have to tilt your hips towards that side, because that means your pelvis will not be balanced. think of it like this: when doing a pirouette, your supporting leg is the axis around which you'll rotate, so it needs to be strong and aligned with your center of gravity in order to spin and keep your balance. if this pillar is wobbly, the pirouette will likely be messy and less stable. but building a strong pillar is meaningless if you don't put any weight on it: that's why you need to slightly shift your center of gravity (but NOT tilt your pelvis) onto the supporting leg so that all your weight falls into it instead of being distributed between both sides. to sum up, it's important to put your weight on your supporting leg and keep it strong, but you need to shift your whole axis: if your hips are not balanced, it means you're bending that axis instead and you'll lose your balance! hope this helps, and please remember to take it easy and be patient to yourself💙 happy dancing!
