Hi, watch your videos and start to change my mindset about photography and gears. Where could i upload my photo?

my trick for getting the "real" emotions and not a posted picture is to wait. People can only hold themselves for like 5-6 seconds - especially in a group. Then they usually break up. which is when I hit the shutter a few times. I also tell people to "look more happy" which is somewhat sarcastic - but can often break their poker face and bring out the real emotions, the way others see and remember them. I do capture motion blur in portraits, but whipping and twisting my camera. timing the rear curtrain flash with the right framing. It really brings the background into disarray and can at times look like reverse light painting. I don't publicly share those images or post to instagram - the sensitivity of the pictures and the privacy I provide allow me to keep capturing these moments and only share them with those pictured.

I really appreciated at 7:40 when you showed the other photos that went in the process of the final keeper. It helps me visualize how to approch such a scene and the person within that scene.

Wonderful time for me, Mitchell! I've been feeling so uninspired and spending too much time on YT looking for gear I don't need. After watching this, I went to the woods looking for light and color. I came back feeling much more connected to and grateful for my current gear. Tomorrow when I am out there doing street photography, I'll practice the other reminders you gave me. I've been shooting 30 years but no matter how long we've been shooting, it's so easy to get in a rut and forget these things.GORGEOUS images by the way!! Your images alone inspire. Thank you!

Greetings from Nepal. Great teaching approach... I rarely watch photography 'how to' channels BUT yours is an exception. I'm halfway thru your latest course and RECOMMEND it to anyone reading this - grab it!

No (we left our van in China late last year), back to backpacking... Watched Ma Nene 'mummy' ancestor ceremony in Sulawesi recently; weird and fascinating.@@mitchellkphotos

Wow! Checking out Biertan I found the Via Transilvanica! "Via Transilvanica (in English: The Transylvanian Trail) is a hiking trail which crosses the Transylvania, Bukovina and Banat regions of Romania, and is meant to promote their respective cultural, ethnic, historical and natural diversity. It was built between 2018 and 2022, with its design and conception heavily inspired by historical pilgrims' ways and hiking trails, such as The Way of St. James and The Appalachian Trail. Starting at Putna, Suceava County, it stretches over 1,428 kilometres, 10 counties of Romania, over 400 communities, and 12 UNESCO World Heritage sites, ending in Drobeta Turnu-Severin, Mehedinți County. Its motto is "The road that unites".[1][2][3][4]" I MUST walk this route! Did you walk it?

Hello Mitchell. I was wondering how you approach the people you photograph. Do you ask them for permission to take their photo and use it for some purpose? What are your thoughts about the ethics in this question. I am studying cultural anthropology and am interested in using visual elements in my research and in future documentary projects to capture reality. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts about these issues. Your work, videos and energy are really inspiring. From Emilia.

Mitchell, hi! Inspiring photos and material! Thank you. I’m already working on two of your other courses - natural light and understanding the post-process of Lightroom. How different is your new course from them?
@mitchellkphotos Жыл бұрын
Many new things. Too many to mention. Please just check the link that I've provided and you'll see.

Mitchell, I have I your Photographer's Mindset course. It also mentions visual cues (among other subjects and factors that make a memorable image). 50% off is great, but I wonder if this course is substantially different from the other(s).
@mitchellkphotos Жыл бұрын
Yes. I believe it's substantially different. There might naturally be some elements that are repeating, but overall, this is mostly new stuff. My whole thing is that I don't want to repeat the same kinds of courses on my platform. :)

The morning light of Lisbon is really magic! Anyway, think it's not exotic enough for you there. And too many tourists, I guess. Watch your video for the second time now. Anyway, I don't really like photographing people, and never will. Actually forest photography is what I like the most.

I LOVE Lisboa, it's one of my fav cities. Loved shooting there, but yes, I think now, it's almost all tourists. 🤣

@@mitchellkphotos Oh, so good to hear! We were there for 3 days, and I found the soft morning light combined with the pastel colors amazing. And the 25 de Abril Bridge, don't need to go to Golden Gate Bridge now, where I hear there are lots of camera thieves. The whole family felt really safe there. And in the early mornings there are not many tourists either.
