I love painting small. I make bookmarks and paint on teabags. Painting on damp paper is my favorite style. I get soft edges without having to add water as on dry paper; and I feel I have more control than with wet paper.

I would agree that damp painting is nice. Painting on teabags sounds cool!

I like to paint on no bigger than A5 but I find I end up with a busy piece. These tips are very helpful especially the editing and limited colour palette. I too am guilty of jumping straight in without sketching, which could be why my pictures are too heavy. I have so much to learn. Thank you 🇯🇪🇬🇧

I’m glad this was helpful. One of these days I’ll record myself painting an 18”x24” landscape. It’ll be a challenge trying to upsize and plan for a larger canvas. I’ll probably wind up with 27,000 trees 🤣

You can do it! I’m in learning mode, too, so I hope these videos will help. 😊

I agree with being able utilize the project while damp.

Good to hear I’m not alone 😁

@MatchesClashes , logically if it's dry you consider the outline, if it's wet you consider the bleed... if it's damp you consider BOTH, works for me!
