Thank you,Rachel. This video inspires me a lot.My English teachers have taught me a little bit of skills about linking words but they haven't taught me how to reduce less important words! If I had known this skill,I would understand a lot of transcripts of American films and TVs without English subtitles. I wish I can realise it after watching your videos.

Thank you very much. Yours are the best English classes I've ever had. Great addition YouGlish. I've been for quite a lot of time trying to work out how to pronounce "asked them", so many consonants together was very difficult, finally I've found that you drop the "k". Easy and simple.

Hi Rachel, I've been following your channel for about two years. I integrate those tips you mentioned into daily life and it turns out they're truly incredibly helpful!! Thank you so much for offering the tremendous resources for learning English! This is literally the best channel I can find on the internet for either intermediate level speakers or beginners to improve their verbal skills. I've also subscribed to This American Life, but on and off I still find it difficult to get every single word in an episode without looking at the corresponding transcript. Since usually the duration of episodes is about an hour, it's really wearing to replay every time when I felt that I missed some information. It's indeed a wonderful channel to listen to at leisure, so I don't wanna give up on the podcast just because I cannot fully understand it. I came back to this video since my question is directly linked to the content of it. Do you have any suggestions for my situation? Thank you in advance!🙏🙏🥺🥺

Thank you Rachel for your English tips. For the past 34 years ... i couldn't pronounce the correct pronunciation of simple words ... for example (various), which i could replace it for several, but sometimes we need to pronounce this specific work that we have in our mind; okay, i do use it, but never came out of my mouth as i correctly wanted to pronounce it.... well, now i can pronounce the word "various" just as you do ( the a is between ae), sometimes the most simple words are difficult to pronounce because English is not our first language, we are learning the idiom. I have been in USA most part of my life (37 years) and for most part of my life i have been at school/ college (after work), specifically mastering English and computers. The last 4 courses i took was back in 2008 at ACC, and finished the cementer, but my daughter stopped me to go back to college that year; she said, i was just wasting money, all i need is continue practicing English. Believe me, after 37 years living in USA, i am still mastering Fluent American English, and i love it! Thank you for teaching us fluent America English. Think Positive
