1. Plan and Prepare upfront (I kind of hate doing this but admit it does help) 2. Capture everything for the edit (+ leave notes for yourself) 3. Monitor recording (I've not done this at times and regretted it! The fuji camera app sucks for this) 4. Use templates (I really need to learn to do this) 5. Build a catalog of music for your videos (Easier said than done)

Justin, I think one of the absolute BEST tips I've ever gotten and it was from one of YOUR videos was to use a finger snap or clap to make a mark in the video so you can edit it. bEST tip ever!!! Thank you. I never would have thought of that!! Thank you!

Thank you for the excellent tips! I’ve learned over time these 5 steps save an enormous amount of time. Just last night I thought to highlight parts by hand covering the camera but the clap is a great idea because often when finished, I forget the spot that needs attention and have to review again.

7:20 Justin is describing a lot of friction reduction. As he was showing the graphics saved as a preset, with him on set, I thought...that looks like a thumbnail right there. So yeah. You could have at least a draft, or an iteration of a thumbnail by grabbing screenshots from footage. At moments during editing...snap. Or capture. Snapture? Hmm. Forget I said that last thing. (Googling for prior usage...)
