I haven't found a way for the in person events. Most of it includes them using my phone or another QR code and at this point I already have one linking them to my Instagram and shop which I feel is more important. The paper works well for the purpose it serves right now. If they buy, I make sure to say, can I send you an email receipt and thats a sign up!

Yeah, I think it depends on the context but I likely use them interchangeably. I mean pop up shop/sale meaning I'm showing up at a space to do a pop up booth!

Ashley, I myself recently set up a Shopify store, and am debating on which POS system to purchase for in-person sales. My understanding is that it's probably best to use the Shopify POS system so that it harmonizes with rest of the Shopify way of operating. Since you bought a Square card reader, have you found that there are any conflicts or disadvantages to using the Square device with the Shopify platform? Thank you for sharing your experience about setting up a pop-up shop. I was drawn to your video because I want to try a pop-up shop before I commit to a craft fair, which I think would overwhelm me on my first sales attempt.

Save the stress and go with Shopify. There is no benefit or need to do square based off what you’ve shared!

I used Hotplate which lets me take pre-orders, customers pay in advance through the platform so I can control how much food to prep before my pop up! I found the Shopify was harder to use for food pop-ups specifically

So I have a question … and comment I guess. And I really hope it doesn’t offend anyone but I’m going to ask you anyway. I’m in the very early stages of my luxury candle business. In my mind, what’s going to set me apart from everyone else selling candles in my area is that my line is NOT like your typical farmers market candle (they’re everywhere you turn around these parts). Its almost like a slogan I’ve been telling my friends and family “these candles aren’t farmers market candles”. Again, I never want to offend anybody who makes or buys farmers market candles. I have bought and loved them! I’m just saying .. this is not a product I want to make, sell, or market. I am marketing to a completely different audience. That being said, popping up at a farmers market would do me no good, I would think. Considering farmers markets tend to be people shopping for discounts and cheaper products, no? I know your candles are high end candles as well. I also know this video is over a year old and you have since grown since then. BUT .. back then, did you do well at farmers markets or did people laugh at your higher prices? Lol. I probably did a terrible job at explaining my true question but hopefully you’re picking up what I’m putting down ;)

I mean, if your schtick is going to be Not A Farmers Market candle and you show up at a farmers market, it's definitely a conversation piece. You can totally market to a different audience. I have a candle that I don't consider your typical FM piece but I LOVE being at the markets so it works out for me and is vital to my business.
