Yo that bit about cutting vertically to give a softer look is a life saver, every time i go to the hairdressers they always cut horizontally and it ends up looking like a bowl cut fringe, its terrible... Thank you for that bit of help!

something i just learned, the vertical cut is actually supposed to be slightly angled. maybe that's where your issue is?

It'll take a lot of training for the hair to get used to in being a full bangs cuz it has been parted that way for a while now IMO... And the hair would be so stubborn because of the cowlick so heat should be her best friend. By heat I mean Hair Straightener, A Hair Dryer + brush and or Straightening Brush. Or maybe she has to cut it a tad shorter and style it using either of those heat tools I said... For now this is just either a curtain fringe or a short frontal layers. Nonetheless it's an okay bangs. -Also A Pro Hairstylist Here

I did it once DIY and it got so short when I went out with my mom her childhood friend thought I have some mental problem...with those so short bangs 😱😱😱....and trust me it took a lotta time to regrow front hair.😒😏😒( No offense ) Moral of the story- Don't do it at home..Not everything you see is as easy as it looks.
