So true! We unexpectedly had to move and the only house we got approved to renting is one where my husband and I share our room with our littlest toddler. Everywhere I move, I paint my bedroom Benjamin Moore Yin Yang blue-similar to the last bedroom in the “rugs” section with the wall of windows. The color is so soothing and gentle to wake up to. I have dark, heavy furniture and all white linens and it is just so classy. Great job, Lisa! Can’t wait for Sept launch of club.

LISTEN TO THIS WOMAN! SHE KNOWS OF WHAT SHE SPEAKS! Thank you, Lisa! For those who asked, "Why isn't a bed against the wall sustainable?" You are going to need to clean and change sheets and make that bed every day. When you are young you can pull this off for a while but even the young get sick of climbing onto a bed and trying to wrestle on that corner of the sheet or having to move a large bed every time you need to make it which for some of us is DAILY. I know you think we are unicorns but yes, we do exist. Space on both sides means easy clean underneath and easy sheet changing and bed making and best of all, NO CLIMBING OVER ANYONE ELSE TO GET IN OR TRAPPING YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER. LOL.

Yes, yes, yes - I lived like this for a while with boxes piled up on the other side of the bed so I couldn't walk around there (there really was nowhere else to put the boxes) . I'd never do that again. It makes it so difficult to make the bed even with fitted sheets and a throw over duvet.

Well, my favorite wall color for my bedroom is a deep coral. As a friend said to me, there are two things you do in a bedroom and one of them is sleep; so paint it the color YOU like. The bedroom is not a public room. Change it to a boring neutral color when you are about to put your house on the market.

9:08 I splurged on a vintage fiberglass shell rocker to divide the sleeping nook in my studio into a sleeping and a reading space. Going to buy a large pillow or throw for the chair as well. Makes the sleeping nook feel like its own room instead of a place the bed sticks 2 feet out of! Also may hang my string of hearts by that reading nook where the sun hits each day. 😍☀️ P.S. I love your fabric-on-wall and plywood backdrop ideas for those who don't love headboards. Plywood seems better for avoiding bug problems, but fabric seems so luxurious!! Thank you as always, Lisa.

Hey! I moving to a larger unit with a small quest bedroom. The only way to have the bed and nightstands is to put the bed in front of the window, because the window is in the center of the wall. My personal taste is to have the bed to be the focal point of all my bedrooms. The headboard is about 60” high for the bed I picked out but I think it will be beautiful. I’m going with a soft blush and beige bedding. I’ll send pictures when I’m finished. The window is a single panel window so I’m going to add wide curtains to go about 12” past the window on each side to make the wall pop. Thank you for the tips.

LOL, it's so funny that people think red is so bad for a bedroom. Depends on how you feel about red. I find it relaxing, inspiring, empowering and happy. Red is love. Red is strength. It's magical. While I've only ever gotten to do one accent wall in red (brick red), I would love to have a red room. Til then, I do have red accents in every single room. When I need to feel better, I look at the red. It cheers me. LOL

Cool colors are not cozy to me, they are fresh and lively and wet -- I use them in my bathrooms (blue and silver) and kitchen (celery). I want warm colors in the bedroom, but not bright, per se. Like ivory and gold and warm browns. (little pop of red) I'm a morning person, so I have NO trouble falling asleep at night. I want sun streaming in my window paired with welcoming colors when I open my eyes in the early am.

I’m currently building and my husband really wanted a ceiling fan in our bedroom. 😩 I hate them! I did find a modern black/brushed nickel fanimation one though however the ceiling height is 25ft. There’s a 6ft downrod. Hoping it doesn’t end up looking ridiculous….

idk if theres a furbaby safe alternatice to area rug (?), however i definately know thhere is a list of safer plants that are non-toxic to cats and dogs... especially cats.. i for one am not concerned about my dogs eating weird plants even though they do enjoy the occasional grass outside but they just wont eat anythhing else.. On the other hand my cats chew on just about any plant eithin their vacinity and they are mostly the ones to be thinking on in regaards to having plants around.

Firstly, training animals is always the best first choice. There are stain resistant and pet friendly rugs and fabrics. Plants can be tricky.

Are accent walls okay? In my guest room, I would love to have removable black/ white oversize peony wallpaper on wall with the bed. I am soo nervous about it. The bedding is neutral cremes and white. I'm afraid that wall will be messed up if I change my mind and would the pattern be too loud for a bedroom. I would love your opinion. THANKS

At the very least balance it out with a complementary (perhaps toned down) wallpaper in the other walls. Otherwise it looks oddly out of balance. Remember, the walls are the least important thing in the room (the furniture, the fabrics are what really matter). You don’t want people leaving and only remembering it as “the room with that one wall”.

Fonda!!! Wallpaper can most definitely be overwhelming to use!!! 😅 If you decide to go forward with the accent wall, I HIGHLY recommend going with one that's easy to peel off in case you change your mind!! 👏🏼💕💙

I have a 42 inches wide opening going from master bedroom to the bathroom. I can see the sink from my bed and I don’t know how I should fix that. If I put a door, doors are narrow and I feel like it won’t look good. Any suggestions?

Thats great if you want to get customers in and out of brothel or after you do a show .. but trust me. I've had orange in a bedroom and nothing in warm tones should go unto a bedroom unless it's a light cream color or ivory is going to be restfull

I love my bedroom storage ottoman. It has FIVE functions! Not only is it a footstool for my bedroom reading chair, but it stores my entire purse collection, and serves as seating for where I do my hair, and seating for when I need to plunk and pull stuff out of my basket side table that sits next to my chair. And when I'm just getting home, it serves as a place to throw what's in my hands until I feel like putting it away. It's the most multi- functional piece of furniture in my home. I highly recommend bedroom footstool storage ottomans. At least one!

This is why your information is so valuable to me 😘: Way back in the 70's I redid the bedroom my 5 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter shared. On a cool summer night after they fell asleep I opened their bedroom windows, pushed their beds together, tossed a lightweight sheet over them and painted their walls. When the walls were dry I then pasted border trim around the room, took off the sheet and pushed their beds back. Unfortunately wallpaper paste doesn't like freshly painted walls so when I went back into the room to admire my work, imagine my horror as the border paper was curled on top of and stuck to my precious babies!! 😳 We still laugh about it 🤣.

I have found that plants don't do so well in my bedroom. My planned solution is to blow a hole through my closet to add french doors and a balcony from my bedroom that overlooks the back yard. After that exit way is made, the closet will then be in two parts, with each part facing the other, rather than the closet facing the room as it currently does. This will create more natural light and an amazing view and lounge chairs out on the balcony. I am over the moon for the improvement that is going to bring to the vibe of my bedroom.

Lining the bed wall with fabric is a great idea for quieter sleeping conditions, too. A little batting or foam rubber, under the fabric, really helps even more.

@Kimberly Perrotis --- This sounds lovely, but how do you handle: 1) the transitions between pieces of fabric, and 2) getting the batting and fabric to stick to the wall (and the fabric to the batting)? Because it seems to me with wall fabric getting it smooth would be the biggest challenge, yes?

The bedroom color suggestion makes SO much sense. Many years ago, my mother decorated a nursery bright yellow. I think that’s why my younger brother cried so much as a baby - that room did not look relaxing at all. I still think about it when I’m thinking about bedroom colors. Lol!
