I did a peel and stick floor in my kitchen.. I got the peel and stick from Lowes on clearance for under $100 (My kitchen is around 15x20 ft). I own my house, so I was able to get groutable peel and stick and grout it. Obviously that is more permanent so not good for renting, but I laid the tiles in a herringbone pattern and it is seriously SO nice looking. It is my favorite project I've ever done on my house!

Also you sound like you're being yourself and are just very comfortable with what you do! Thank you. So easy to watch. The other ones give me anxiety. Talking so fast and using a fake voice... Also an over 60 Grandma home owner...lol, I have the frosted privacy stuff on some of my windows (from Ace Hardware as my small town doesn't have many stores). These still let a lot of light in, and heat in summer. So on my back dining room door I also covered it with contact paper in the wood design as my wooden screen didn't block the top portion and was a pain to keep moving to access the door. I also used a print contact paper to cover my bathroom window. This still lets some light in, gives me not only privacy but seems to open up the bathroom since I no longer need to hang a curtain (folds take up a small space) and I can use the ledge to decorate with candles.

My favorite window coverings are the peel and stick prism effect… They look great, and make rainbows all over your room. If you don’t want to do the whole window, you can just cut out a little square or Star or any shape you like and stick it on the window and it’ll still make rainbows!

I live in Florida, where moisture & mold have to be considered with any product I want to try. We had a tidal surge after the last hurricane. Within 2 days, mold made it necessary to remove the bottom half of the walls. We don't use a lot of carpet because of the storms and water that's always a threat. Peel & Stick flooring is a blessing for getting the floors done and moving on to the next thing. This video has been an education for me; and I already knew a lot. Thank you so much for the effort & good taste you obviously put into your work.

I liked your idea of using a shower curtain as a barrier to the peel and stick flooring so you can remove it easily. Have you tried using a moisture barrier underlayment? Home Depot sells it SUPER cheap and it's literally just a roll of black plastic so there wouldn't be a section with holes in it for shower curtain rings. Also, how did you seal around areas like the bathtub? The only thing holding me back from this is the idea of not sealing it there and water splashing down in between the bathtub and the now "floating" floor. . . but I don't want to use an actual sealer there in an apt.

Hello, I once lived unanimously upper duplex. The kids weren’t to keen on it. The worst of it was the cracked walls. So peel and stick wasn’t in. At thrift store I found a bin full of border wall paper. And lucky for me they had a lot of Ivy and flowers. I started cutting out what I wanted in the border. It is a delicate chore placing wallpaper and those cracked in the wall. But it looked a hundred times better. A week later they walked into a whimsical space. And my daughter says “Mom you can turn anything into a home!” So thank you for advice I m checking out Amazon.

Oh my gosh! So glad KZbin put you on my list! I am renting for the first time in 25 years and with white walls to boot! I always said I would never have white walls again and I had no clue all this stuff was out there! I am wowed and you gave a great general impression on the vast array of possibilities of ideas to beautify an apartment. Thank you and I did subscribe 😮😊

Instead of peel film there is a spray paint product that is easier to use. Also there is a flooring called SmartDrop that is great as you can take it with you if you move. No sticky glue, literally you drop it on top of the existing floor. Not cheap but you can take it with you instead of upgrading for the landlord.

OMG, you are a life saver. I wanted to redo my office with wall paper but b/c it's textured, I was told it wouldn't stay. I definitely going to look for this poly wall at my local Lowes. This seems so much quicker than smoothing out the wall. Thank you sooo much!!

Just found your channel. Thanks for the renter friendly advice!. My previous apartment was on the first floor. I had French doors and both bedroom windows faced the parking lot with a side window near the sidewalk. Privacy film was a game changer!! I initially purchased a roll from Joanns. But with the amount I needed, I opted for clear contact paper from the Dollar Tree. It is actually frosted. Worked like a charm! For a fraction of the cost!

Hmmm wonder if polywall is a good subfloor option? I hate the idea of peeling up the floor and having to clean all the residue on top of moving out

I own my house, but I love your show. Your ideas are top notch. You have a real eye for details. Those little thing's would drive you crazy to look at undone. But covering something chipped can elevate the space and bring you that peace of rest in your home!

Also covering something chipped can add length of life to a piece of furniture/cabinets. That's important to me because I need to save the big $ for projects I have around my house because my house is real old and needs work. Not having to replace something but making it livable still is a real life saver for me!

I use the spray on privacy film. It looks like frosted glass, got it at Home Depot. You can also use Stencils with it...Its a lot cheaper than the rolls.. One can covers 2 huge windows, you need several sprays...❤

You can put some of that molding in duplicate patterns of various millwork on your ceiling as long as you don't have acoustic on the ceiling. But you could add in strips of cornice moulding Slightly lower than your ceiling and rig up some of those tiny strips of lights that plug into a USB port ; they look like little microchips or something in a little narrow plastic plastic strip. You can get a wall charging unit to plug it in. Get creative by adapters extensions whatever takes. This idea will give a nice subtle lighting choice you can buy those strips that are motion activated so there would Have to be some part of it that could actually see movement. You could rig it so that you could wave your hand near the opening of where you've hidden the light strips behind the moulding....

@@chriscooks5437 which part? I don't know what you don't know, So my advice is to ask questions like I did. Go to your DIY store and look at mouldings; look for the biggest one and see what you might be able to add to it, below it that is, to make it extra fancy, if you want. If you're gonna put some kind of little LED strip lighting inside it, don't mount it close to the ceiling because you want the light to escape but you don't want the lights themselves to be seen. In this case since you're not putting the molding flush With ceiling, it's okay to have popcorn on it. Popcorn is that textured that is on the ceiling that was really really popular and houses built or renovated in the 1980s. Named so because it looks like popcorn. If you have popcorn on the ceiling and you are going to put molding up next to the ceiling you have to scrape the popcorn off, so that it will fit flush where it meets the ceiling. As far as fancy flying your molding it would take measuring it would take your style and taste to put several strips of it large and small together putting extra stuff above and below making it as ornate as you want. The little lights I'm talking about, I don't really know how else to describe them but If you go looking for 'em you'll find them in computer technical stuff that can plug up to a USB port and be charged by whatever goes with that set up period If you've ever been where they have a pantry, closet or cupboard or library cabinet doors where that interior lights up automatically, that's the kind of lights I'm talking about - they are not encased in a rubber/vinyl tube. They kind of look like little metal squares on a tape. It would take me hours, across three different electronic devices I have to find the video where I saw it. Sorry I can't help you more. Crown molding and LED lighting channel /KZbin has five videos that explains everything you need for that. And as far as trims and moldings, there are multiple links if you just put "decorating/ moldings/ trims" on your search line.... but I got to say you could look for hours and not see what I'm describing about using multiples of moldings just ask at the DIY store how you can do that and maybe they could suggest something or just get to playing start picking out stuff you like and figure out how you can make it go together where it looks good. Go play in the "molds" at the DIY store.

Hi, Wayna. Another great, informative video. I really like and appreciate this is a compilation of all your favorites, recommendations and products and design ideas you've used in the past. I really appreciate that you've scoured Amazon and the big box stores for what you recommend and what is the best value. You really do a great service to renters, but also to home owners. I own; but I have absolutely zero design ingenuity or creativity. I know what I like and what I admire in decor (your design aesthetic is On Point👍), I just have no energy, and that unfortunately extends to any creativity. All of your videos are a great source of knowledge and recommendations for when I ever eventually try to zazz up my space. Thank you, and much love and admiration from Louisville, Kentucky. ❤

This is wonderful info! I have a first floor bathroom I’ve wanted to transform but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on so I see lots of things I can do now. And I wanted to put mirrors up in my little home gym to see my form and now I can without being concern about it staying up. And lastly, I can finally put these pictures shelves up myself with the command strips. Thanks for advice!

Hey Wayna Hey! 👋I love 💕your videos, you are so helpful. I am a homeowner, your hacks for renters have helped me gain the confidence to tackle small projects around my home without regret or fear. So, I have already purchased the peel and stick tiles for a kitchen project, but my walls are textured. I will be purchasing the polywall panels and applying the peel and stick to that surface. Thank you and I can't wait until your next video!
