Hello, Carmen, be very welcome to the channel. Hotels charging for Wi-Fi is a no-no these days. To be honest, that's a rare case in Barcelona. The only instance we can think of is the EasyHotel we recommend, and in this particular case it is because it's a low-cost hotel with all the perks charged extra (if you join the hotel's affinity club, for free, you get Wi-Fi also for free). I like Hotel Opera Ramblas, just seconds to te Liceu Metro Station. Good, clean, AC. Quiet. Cross the Rambla and to Gothic! Another one is the Benidorm hotel, the new rooms are spectacular. Just down the Ramblas.

It seems to be a bit old but we love the location and the price. We are hoping it is well maintained and not run down. Anything we need to be aware of? Would appreciate any advice.

We've actually stayed at the hotel, one of our best hotel experiences in the Greater Barcelona area (the hotel is not in Barcelona itself). The architecture is extraordinary and the rooms are truly great. Useful information. There are two Ibis Styles in the city. One of them is near top end of Passeig De Gracia. We supposed to stay here last year in March. But had to leave the country due to the lockdown. The rates we paid were quite reasonable. Have you been to this hotel? If you have, do you consider this as budget hotel?

Hi there, and be very welcome to the channel. We have stayed at both Ibis Styles. We liked the Ibis Bogatell better than the one near Passeig de Gràcia. But in terms of tourism in Barcelona, the location of the Ibis Styles Barcelona Centre is much better. Both are a step above the definition of budget hotel, in terms of service and in terms of prices too.

Lili, the location of both hotels is quite good, but if we could choose, we would stay at the Catalonia Passeig de Gràcia, a very nice hotel with a splendid location. All the best.

Both hotels are in fine residential areas of Barcelona, but a bit distant from the centre to be able to walk. Good transport connections, though.
