It’s fuel to say, but when I’m watching these plugin, sound videos the last thing I want is to hear someone talking. My favorite videos are software demos with NO TALKING! I wish they would just put all the talking and info at the end. That way if you’re actually interested, you can stay until the end to get more info

Hey ! i have a JX8P but i play on PG-8X too, and this vst is very powerful and sounds pretty close of the JX8P, you can also export sysex from PG-8X to JX8P, and it"s also a PG 800 midi controler...bread and butter ;) Another vst is not too bad it's the OBX-d by 2DaT : www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=1844 Try it you could be surprised ;) Have a nice day !!

PG8x turned me onto the JX-8P, haha, kinda backwards, but I've just learned a massive appreciation for Roland's little runty synths. Alpha Juno in the mail coming my way. JX-3P down the line, and JX-8P further down the line. Just saw an 8P go for crazy low price, in great condition, just didn't have the cash for it (thanks Alpha Juno... I surely would have appreciated the JX-8P more!). It broke my heart, but I'm so happy I've finally figured out what these Roland synths are about.

Great comparison tut. Going to buy Sylenth now. SQ8L is based on Ensoniq ESQ-1 and SQ80. Two amazing synths used a lot by people like John Carpenter, Adamski, JMJ & Chris Huelsbeck. Those synths are from 1986 and 1987 respectively. They are two rare synths & hard to find on eBay. And I can't use SQ8L because I'm on Mac. So sad.

SQ8L and PG8X are both longtime favorites of mine. PG8X also has it's chorus effect in a separate VST, and it sounds pretty lush. Wavestation rocks, especially if you grew up with Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2. DKC 2 particularly has the Wavestation sound. I snagged Xpand for $1 but haven't used it all that much yet. Haven't used Sylenth or the Tal, although I've used a few free Tal synths that were nice.

Love the PG-8X. I have a real JX-8P and the PG-8X sounds just like it. My favourite freebie VSTi at he moment is the Arminator2 by Krakli. Superb CS-80 emulation. There's so much brilliant choice out there in freebie land that I surprise myself when I actually buy a VSTi, but I still do buy stuff, especially on Deals. I also bung the freeware makers a bit now and then. They're worth it for sure.

Great reply. Going to checkout PG-8x now. The Marimba in XPAND! alone Always has me going back. Such a great little sampler instrument. Totally worth the time familiarizing with the sounds. $1 is a crazy price for that one. I’m a Pro tools user so it comes free but I would buy it over and over again. Been using TAL UNO recently too. It needs help but one could do anything Junk they need with it. Great soft synth. The TAL Sample is a fav of mine too. Cheers.

what type of sounds would zebra make that diva cant make..i own diva already but am considering buying it or should i look for another synth to compliment diva?
@lorenmorgan19316 жыл бұрын
Zebra is more like a nextgen DX. Its FM capabilities are out of this world. I dont use it enough and I should. Diva kinda blends the major 6 classic analogues, with an FM module together (which is awesome), but Zebra takes the FM reigns and runs with it hardcore. You can get anything from DX7, Sega Genesis sounds (FM chiptune), to incredible drums sounds. Get the demo, you wont be sorry. I think they have some 25% of sale going now if you sign up for their newsletter. All their products are solid and sound like legit hardware. Get the demo, you wont regret it.

U He had 25% off all there products about a week ago. Very rare they have sales. If you own Zebra 2 you get to buy into Zebra 3 for $30 extra dollars. If you own Zebra 2 and the Dark HZ pack you get it free. I was told this deal will end soon or at any time.

This proves how much synthwave is about arrangement and sound design. None of these synths sound the same and only the tal u no sounds 80s especially on a raw level. Sylenth is a great modern digital synth but the oscillators and filter sound clean which is what they are meant to be but not how a prophet or Roland or obxa sounds. Great free synths for 80s sounds are obxd, pg8x, tal u no 60,tal bass line and tal chorus lx on many other synths. Xpand seems alright for those sampled sound of the 90s, dated in a cool way, using these all together in a production would be cool.
