Hello from Japan. Was very impressed by your demo video and followed your link. My questions are 1) for the premium program how long does it last? Is lifetime access or 1 year then renewed again or what? The policy on that is not clear, please clarify. 2) do students submit work or do you give advice if we ask you to? 3) I’m very interested in joining your course, but do you give private lessons also? Thank you for great video! Sincerely
@ProkoTV2 ай бұрын
@lindawakiyama1603 Thanks for liking it! All of our courses are lifetime access. You gain access and that's yours forever. You can download them as well as having access to them on our website forever. Students submit their work for assignments as they come out and we'll use some for critique videos. But some instructors give advice as they see students share their work, even outside of assignments. Some of our instructors do lessons in other places but we do not offer private lessons outside of our normal course structure on Proko.

One thing I love about Marhsall's teaching is that he gets you excited about what would seem a boring and intimidating subject like perspective :)Thanks for the great resource as always. I'm sure things will get more challenging as the course progresses...but here's hoping I can stick with it while having some fun!

Marshall I bought your perspective course a number of years ago. It was the BEST money I have ever spent on improving my art. I refer back to it over and over again. ( Some day I might get a full grasp on all the knowledge the it imparts. ) I would encourage everyone to invest in this if in nothing else.

I already know about aerial perspective and how its works, but still wondering how to apply it on my drawing while keep the color looks natural. for example if I drawing a background on the paper with pencil, the trick is erase a far away object a little to make it looks vanish. But digital drawing with color can't use those tricks, I trying to use gradient but it makes the color looks kinda unnatural
@ProkoTVАй бұрын
I get where you're coming from You can do exactly what you mentioned in digital, though! It'll feel a little different and using the gradient tool might make you do too much or too even of a fade for the distant objects. Try using an eraser tool instead of the gradient. You might not want it to be that smooth of a falloff of the background because the fade with distance wouldn't be as strong or even as that gradient tool will make it.

Perspective points confused me so frustratingly much when I was learning it. one, two, or even three points never felt like they worked when drawing from real life, because not everything converged at the same points, it was too limiting. I didnt know how to articulate this problem though, and couldnt find any answers, so I just gave up on learning perspective for so long!

Ah multiple vanishing points that go off the drawing so far away that they’re probably in the next room, the bane of my drawing existence. But seriously am I the only one who is annoyed by 2 or 3 point perspective trying to draw cities relatively large without a drafting table.

All really helpful and so on. But the question i am asking myself....RIGHT NOW! 0.0 .... Why the heck, dit it never come into my mind... to use a damn peace of paper (or maybe stencil of some kind) for clean shading?! xD You can study this stuff for years and nonetheles learn allways someting new, just from listening and watching ^^

Learning to separate the nude human body from being inherently sexual will serve you well in life! The body is just a fact of life. Sometimes, it's just there hanging out, ya know? But some people have a harder time with that than others and that's okay, as long as it doesn't affect anyone outside of themselves. For the purpose of learning art, try to just focus on the knowledge you're building up. Try drawing just the forms of those you're not attracted to as an exercise in building up that separation between "nude" and "sex". But if you continue to have a hard time with it, just use reference or video that feature those in swimsuits and things like that.

Everything here is just good, old-fashioned human-made art teachin'! Marshall put blood, sweat, and tears into these perfectly delivered voiceovers 💪 He hand-drew any of the assets that aren't credited on screen to the other wonderful artists who contributed their time on this over the last 11 years of work on the course. But we appreciate if you thought it was too good for any mere HUMAN'S abilities to make. We agree. Marshall's too powerful.
