A good set of tips for a rounded training schedule 👌 I'm finally getting to a point where I can hold a true zone 2 effort for a decent distance. I'm currently training for sub 25 in the 5k and managed 10 miles all zone 2 just a couple of days ago for my long run and felt great for it 💪 It's taken a while, but since getting to this point and actually making sure I keep my long runs in that zone I've definitely seen a boost in fitness. I'm guilty of having let the easy runs become more like steady runs in the past, but I think that's now behind me. Thanks for the tips 👊

Mate 10 miles in zone 2 is absolutely awesome!! If you can do that consistently then you will nail that sub 25 min 5k! Thank you mate, I hope you have a fab Xmas!! Train well and keep enjoying it!

This is an awesome video. Im both a middle distance and long distance runner, but at the moment im training to get a sub 5 in the 1600m. Right now im at a 5:13. What is the best way to structure my speed workouts?
@Maxkelly60014 күн бұрын
@drakeparkerson1841 thank you for your lovely comment!! I would focus on that top end speed, lots of 200m & 400m reps at race pace or faster!

Brilliant video max. Can i ask- im primarly a 3.2km runner (2 miles) my pb is 13 mins. I wantto get into the 12 mins range,for now. The dream would be to break 12 mins eventually. What key sessions should i do, and big question i have is, what disance ""long run"" should i do max, to prep for the 3k, is 15k enough ?? More?? Thanks inadvance for your advice, all the best 👍
@Maxkelly60018 күн бұрын
@@na-dk9vm great comment! I would always recommend doing time for a long run- for you, 1 hour :15 mins would be good! I would reckoned doing the sessions form the 5k section, but change the paces to 5k pace and cut the session down by 30%!

@Maxkelly600 thanks max. So for the 3.2km, a long run of 1hr 15 mins is enough?? At an easy(ish) pace?? That would be around 12-13km for me, at an easy pace. Thanks for the advice
@Maxkelly60018 күн бұрын
That would be plenty! Of course I you can do 1:30 that would also be great! Let me know how you get on. Hope the race goes well 🫱🏻🫲🏼
