How did I end up here and why am I so entertained by this guy? I am currently sitting in my little urban jungle balcony in the most cottagecore flower dress I could find and I have zero interest in techwear but watching these videos about a fashion so completely different from my forest fairy witch hybrid closet is so interesting.... I love the idea of cool clothes that are just as functional as they are fashionable. It's an idea I can really get on board with, tho it's less of a Gore-tex mountain climber sneaker approach and more the idea of headscarves and aprons and shoes I can ride my bike in....

I thought the sustainability video was one of your best videos. I personally would love to see more things to that effect. I think the main issue is that your particular audience might not care as much about it, but I bet you could start to cultivate and draw in other audiences. Take care man.

I agree with this sentiment. Actually getting down and dirty with the processes, variety and politics of materials with fashion as it pertains to techwear would be fascinating. But then I am fascinated by the various differing technical solutions to military kits from the cold war period.

Great video as usual! I'm so happy that techwear is growing out its techninja or acronym phase. We're getting more color and more avant garde styles but also more minimal and basic styles. Love the diversity we are getting now.

I prefer the tech ninja stuff way more tbh I’m not a fan of the recent ACG line being so hikercore to the point that it’s something entirely of its own that doesn’t even fit any side of the overall techwear aesthetic 😭

🙌 preach Ant! Performance is relative, like I wear cotton t-shirts all the time with my TW fits, because I live in LA and it's usually hot, so it is performant in that situation. Love the call out to heckhouse, really good example of how to mix to get a look that's yours!

ACG seems all over the place and yet out of stock on the Nike site all the time. Shipping costs are also prohibitive these days to justify certain items.

END has essentially the best ACG collection every season. They get almost every item, tons of product that the US Nike site doesn't get. I dunno about other regional Nike sites, but from what I've gathered recenetly, END is gonna be your best bet for ACG.

Going full techwear nerd on my country can easily get you in trouble or even MIA. It gets heat from the National Guard and God forbid a Cartel mistakes you for a crow because you'll be found cut in pieces. So I do these: -Never wear combat or hiking boots, only sneakers and not in black. -My accesories (chest bag, mask etc are not black. Fe. my chestbag is white with dark grey belts and it looks sick.) -Absolutely no camo (except for socks maybe) -Backpack in the same color of my sneakers. Many people compliment my outfits nowadays whereas they would cross the street to avoid me when I wore all black and looked like swat or something.

Came to find decent cargo pants/brands that aren't classic fast fashion and now I'm subscribed and on a video binge. I would be interested in how tech wear could potentially become plant fibre orientated in terms of textiles (in terms of sustainability), especially with historical fabrics that we've moved away from due to the invention of plastic.
@M0ebius3 жыл бұрын
I agree: the pants and by extension the shoes make the outfit. You get the most bang for your buck from those pieces, which you can pair with any simple synthetic tee or streetwear tee and still get that techwear vibe. The bag is also a very underrated element to completing the look. And honestly I think for techwear on a budget any tactical stuff will do, or anything technical pieces with minimal logos in black. Between the pants, the shoes, and the bag, you’re probably 80% there. Shells on the other hand mostly look pretty similar, especially in black. It is IMO the most overrated part of techwear fits. Most people aren’t going to get enough use out of a high-end shell to really justify the cost, and you can project a similar vibe with most generic gortex jacket.

Hey mate, I'm happy I found your channel months ago, you're an awesome dude, however, I wanted to propose /ask about something. I'm a from a country where one legit techwear item (even the cheaper ones from ACG or Orbit) costs half a persons monthly salary or even more than that. It's very, very hard, to get into tech wear if you live around here. In a video you mentioned the H&M cargo pants, a good looking imitation of the ACG ones, so I searcher for them and they had them here and they were on sale even. They were so cheap, but look really good, they have all the pockets and stuff, they're water resistant, but they really make me sweaty. Compared to the price tho, it was a steal. After that I searched through the whole catalogue of Zara and found a few good looking tech shorts, I bought 'em. What I'm asking is, would you like to make a video where you could inform us of more affordable "fake" tech wear items from brands like H&M and Zara, for people who really can't afford even Orbit Gear. I mean, I personally can, but that means I won't be spending money on pretty much anything else for months, because I'm just starting with techwear. I got myself those Nike X Acronym Air Presto ones, with the pink and blue, and I love this shoe forever. I'm pretty sure there is audience for such items, that are not the cheapest crap from AliExpress, but it's also not Acronym, something in the middle. Yesterday I bought an ACG backpack, Responder, and I'm very happy with it too, but I got it only because I found it on a 50% sale. Second hand resellers are also an option. I saw some ACG shorts for like half the price at Depop and I'll buy them soon. So yeah, that's my idea, a video or videos about cheaper alternative for starters, who would like to try things out, see if they like them.. With cheap alternatives like H&M, Zara and even some ACG items, you could really have a fast start in techwear. Some cargos, few casual t-shirts, Nike X Acronym shoes, a bag, Orbit face mask, and you're good to go.

Regarding the 3 point: Standard gore-tex with its >28000mm H2O rating is overkill in almost all normal conditions. If you're not scaling up K2 15-20k mm H2O is perfectly fine and breathability should be of higher priority for most day to day users. Whats great about the gore company is their extremely high quality control standards but its also those that make products that use their technology much more costly.

Well very late comment, never actually knew there was an actual seriousness to how tech wear should be worn or presented, but for me i always enjoyed this style but actually never knew the name or what shit was worthy of calling tech, im sure this was huge inspiration from the watch dogs game which probably one of my most favorites hands down, and i always enjoyed the techy shit. But if its an actual community that tells you to commit to it seriously such as this is kinda of a let down. Theres things i do enjoy and some i dont. From me, i have a huge sweater/jacket fetish and i go for all types of different styles, from street, suburban, military and all that sort of stuff. But the one i havent dived into was tech, and tech is one that i do very much wanna dip into. But now im aware of the ridiculous commitment. But im only in for it for the awesome jacket/ sweaters. Especially enclosed high collar. In that matter, im a collector of much street, military, suburbs, and tech.
