It’s been a couple years since you made this video, so you may not see this comment. It was such a joy to see you doing “slow“ artwork. We are entering a scary time with AI and I am just happy to continue the tradition of doing “slow” art. Hope you are continuing to go strong.

I have been in a creative block because of the boundaries put upon us, and rules and limitations have crept into my psyche, making me feel closed inside and out. I have a feeling that this way of painting will not only relax me, but make me look at creating in a whole new freeing light. This is lovely, and the background music is perfect. As a child I use to ask my mom to make a squiggle on a piece of paper and I'd see what I could make out of it. I remember it being so much fun, and challenging. I am so glad you brought forth this memory that I'd forgotten. I may use it again. Mom is 93 now and to make something beautiful out of something she started would be not only a challenge, but putting a piece of her into my art. Thank you so much.

I remember as a kid, we would make big scribbles all over the paper and then color all the spaces in! I forgot until you mentioned it! They can be simple (only 5 or 6 spaces) -- or very complicated - scribble all over page over and over! It is GREAT for any age! I suppose that it would work in Black and white too! Great for bored kids!👏👏👏👏👏👏💗💗💗💗💗

Is this considered abstract art? What other titles would you give to it it? I’ve been attracted to doodles since I was very young. Before we had iPads or iPhones, I would doodle when under extreme stress, which helped me greatly. My shapes were more sharp than curvy, which I believe indicated my level of stress. I only used one black or blue ink pen. I am looking forward to doodling again and adding more shapes, textures and colors - and mediums, of course. Thank you for sharing your art. Blessings!

I'm beginning and not loving my work so am fearful and thus unproductive when I know in my heart of hearts this is what I want to do. Self sabotage? Looking forward to implementing these tips in these crazy times and hopefully can come up with something I like. Thank you again and stay safe always

Susan, I appreciate your comment. Just know that we all have been there -- the self sabotage, the inner criticism, the "re-do" as i call it. i still do it from time to time. but now when it happens, i have put the tools in place to get me out of that mindset. those 5 questions are truly pinned to my board by my desk as a reminder to help out when things happen. trust me when i say this: you are not alone with these thoughts. the trick is to keep going because that is the only way to see progress and create in flow. please be tolerant and nice to yourself and have a wonderful week!

👌🤩 Thank you for sharing! Such valuable info for one of an artist's most difficult times. Some ways I have found over the years to pull myself out of a deadlock- • Shut off the TV and any other visual distractions and put on some music. • Paint color swatches of colors you haven't used in awhile. • Take several different shaped brushes and make brush imprints/marks on scratch paper. • Open a magazine or dictionary and paint the first word you see in a monochromatic style. (Forces your mind to open up to new possibilities.) • Paint a color triad chart using three colors you've never combined together before. Hope that is some additional help to anyone stuck in blandville. 😂 Thanks again! ☺️👍

A big thank you, Cee-Cee, from Scotland, where summer is over and winter with its long, dark days are on the horizon. Your video-ed demonstrations and gentle words and manner help one who lives alone to manage and cope with the long 'ground hog' days of isolation and lack of physical contact. In April, hidden away by Covid restrictions, I made the decision to cast inhibitions aside and to start trying to paint. I'm so glad that I did. I have found the mindfulness of your kind of "doodling art" so absorbing and recuperative, particularly when I'm rudderless and feel all at sea. It really helps. And I've discovered that I LOVE golds! ☺️ Be gentle with you. Keep painting. Keep safe. With love. 😘

But I can really get with your abstract doodles, they are so freeing. So that's what I did today and I'm really pleased with the way they turned out. As a beginner I’m always faced with the decision of what to paint. I don’t feel up to a landscape and making realistic people, animals, or even flowers don’t seem in reach. Your picture in this video gives a wonderful example of how I can try out color combinations and techniques without having to paint something “real” yet still be engaged in the creative process and end up with something I think is pleasing (or something I don’t like and can just chuck). Thanks so much for all your videos and support.
