@nightinggale64702 жыл бұрын
Just letting you know: ceramic heat emitters aren’t the best primary heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option during the day, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce infrared A and B like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than CHEs. Whereas CHEs only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin. CHEs are good for nighttime heat, though.

For the second item, I'm training my reptiles to drink from water dispensers for small mammals. My bearded dragons will only respond to drips on their noses and mouths so it's much better for them to get water from one of those. Although I still put bowls in too for humidity and bathing options, quite often the feeders end up in the water and drown getting left uneaten and they get crapped in so they're not that great in general. And if those things happen, It means cleaner water is still there to drink.

@nightinggale64702 жыл бұрын
Climbing enrichment (cork, branches, rocks, plants, ledges, background, etc.), digging/burrowing enrichment, feeding enrichment, sensory enrichment (eg. leaf litter), etc. Feeding enrichment can include varying the feeders you use, where you feed (different spots in the enclosure), how you present the food, etc. Also the provision of UVB and a heat source that produces near infrared, such as a halogen bulb.

As a hermit crab owner, that water hopper things will not work for hermit crabs. They need to be able to fully submerge in separate bowels of saltwater and freshwater, and even if they do fit in it, it’ll get covered in sand and stuff quick, given it’s size.
@Rebecca.Elizabeth2 жыл бұрын
The water dispenser is definitely not for hermit crabs. They drink from a sponge inside a shallow bowl/shell. Anything that size could allow them to drown.The only way it may be somewhat of a use to them is to help keep the high humidity levels they need.

The auto-waterer might be DECENT, if you added some rocks to it, to make sure anything small enough to actually use it, doesnt drown. but then it just becomes a cleaning issue. Although it might be somewhat useful if you are having issues with low humidity, adding rocks, and maybe some moss, to help keep your tank more humid for your tropical critters. Hide behind some fake plants or something. 12.99 is about 7 bucks cheaper than the humidity keeper options i have seen in most pet stores. but you can get the same effect with some concrete poured over a shallow dog or cat dish, with rocks glued to the edges to make it more natural looking.
