That last tip is so important. I see all these amazing videographers on KZbin who have very well edited and color graded videos. Naturally we compare our work to them because their content is so high quality but for a beginner it's all about learning one thing at a time; the professionals have been learning and practicing for years or decades.

I looked up videography for beginners and your video was first that popped up! After hearing you say you had at free course I immediately signed up!!! I appreciate that soo much! I'm gonna try and learn. I'm mostly doing because I just don't want to forget any family memories. I NEED to capture what I can. My deepest fear is forgetting. So im glad to learn and take the steps to create memories for my whole family. Thank you for this.

Lighting is key! I love that point. We have struggled so much with lighting. We have seen that our nicer camera takes more skill to use (which we apparently don't have) and we often get better shots from an Iphone.

Just watched this video and did the free training. Absolutely loved it, this was a perfect overview over all the basics and it got me really inspired and motivated to finally dare to start my own videography journey. I've been wanting to dive into it for a while but always got discouraged by seeing people that have been doing this for so much longer and it made me feel like I could never get to that level anyways, so I really loved how you made everything so realistic and showed that this is something that anyone can learn and you just have to give yourself time and put in the effort.

@dance2jam2 жыл бұрын
Brandon, I enjoyed this video (I am a beginner to video) and I am going through your short beginner course. It's not the first video I've watched on this topic, and I appreciate your quick summary style. That said, I am pretty sure you know this, but ISO does nothing to "boost the light" available to the sensor. I am also sure you are aware that the "native ISO" is the base to which there is no amplification. That is why it is the recommended ISO. In the film days it was an exposure triangle for stills. I understand why you would present it that way for simplicity these days. That said, however, turning up ISO is like turning up the volume on your MP4/CD stereo. The analog or digital data is already recorded. All you are doing is boosting the signal by adding volume, or in photography, adding gain/amplification of the signal already recorded based on aperture and shutter speed. Both of those entities determine how much light comes in. ISO just amplifies the signal after it is recorded above the base. Yes?

Thanks for this video Brandon I definitely appreciate it!! Can you please talk about which laptop is the best for making KZbin videos (whether it's Windows, Mac, or ChromeBook)? I personally use my Windows laptop but that's only because that's what I can afford not because I like it better than Mac or ChromeBook (actually I do like it better than Mac but again that's not the main reason, I already said the main reason). Also, I would like to hear you talk about what materials you need to make audio production (or music production I should say) and what the prices are for those please. Maybe you could talk about an application for both audio and video production too like how to use both audio and video production in movies or how to use it in like you said weddings (and you're already teaching us how to use video production in this video here), and maybe also talk about how specifically to use both audio and video production while making music videos or albums as well (like behind the scenes of how those people use those in their songs or videos because that's always been very interesting to me to see how people do that exactly).
