The bracelet is the answer for a lot of my would-be favorite GADAs. BB58's fake rivets - check; BB39's lack of oyster option - check; Aqua Terra's polished centerlinks - check; ProPilotX's lack of microadjustment - check. I don't want to have to spend extra for a decent bracelet when I'm dropping north of $4k on a watch.

Love watching these videos! A watch really represents to me, where I am in life, and to look back where I was at the time buying that watch. At the moment I am rocking a Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 and a Certina DS-1 with blue leather strap. For the milestones in my next 5 years I think of treating myself with the Longines Conquest blue dial, Tag Heuer Carrera blue dial and strap or maybe a Tudor black bay. In 10 or 15 years I will certainly be at the big boy watches. Can't wait to achieve the next milestone in life, and start working to the next ones!

Two of the best (or at least my favorite) watches are dimished greatly in my estimation by having date windows placed at 4:30 -- Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and Zenith Chronomaster Sport. Both would be far superior w/out the date window at all. (As a general proposition my order of preference for a date window is: (a) none, (b) @6pm (c) @noon (v rare, I know), (d) @3p, (e) 4-4:30. The 4-4:30 position is awful in terms of symmetry/balance. PLEASE Blancpain and Zenith, ditch those date windows.

Interesting episode. The new Tudor GMT Master Chronometer rated at 39mm intrigues me. What’s stopping me from getting is the date on a white background. Would rather have a no date and a dial colour that’s not black. I use to like baton hour markers but as my tastes change, I’m moving over to round hour markers. Somehow it’s more in harmony like a circle within a circle. Hope you can review the PEREN Regia watch whose design language is similar to Dietrich Skin Diver. My kind of designs.
@KeepingWatchUK6 ай бұрын
The date window colouring matches the other markers around the dial. Making it black might make it look odd imho, like something ‘missing’ at 3pm? Not including a date altogether on a GMT doesn’t really make sense.

I'd have to say Hamilton's revision of their Khaki Navy Scuba. The original was a sports watch with only 100 meters water resistance and 40 mm case. The latest version is 300 mm water resistance and a 43 mm case. A lot of collectors passed it by, but don't have to any longer.

I agree with you. I don’t understand everyone’s fascination with their watch depth rating. 99% don’t dive and probably never will, but hey! Watch people are 100% irrational.
@labourse6 ай бұрын
PADI states that diving below 30m (100 feet) is beyond "recreational" diving. Diving below 40m is for those few well trained professionals. Thus a watch depth rating has little to do with real diving but more so as a marketing tool for customers who are interested in prestige of a luxury brand. Further, who in their right mind would take a multi-thousand dollar luxury watch diving below 15m? Modern computer diving watches for a few hundred dollars have many more functions that report safety features for a diver such as ascent rest stops, decompression time, complete dive history and more.

Teddy I’m surprised to say it, but I think the next brand you need to be selling is Tag. Definitely keeping an eye on that company.

Teddy I have two wishes that major brands would do which are kind of the same thing. I know Panerai have been making a huge effort to make there watches smaller but I would still like a Radomir in something under 40mm. Also I think a major area of taste almost none of the major brands are addressing is SQUARE watches and with that square watches that are mid to small as any square watches are 40mm. why not have some slimmer square watches in 36-38mm that are simple and tasteful or even just repeat the styling of their round counterparts. Imagine a 38mm square Conquest for example. Square watches all we have is Cartiers which I dislike. I like the Mido big date but every square watch feels the need to take cues from Gerald Genta. I think Minase are doing some interesting things with square watches and I really like the RAYMOND WEIL Freelancer....In fact this is the kind of watch im really after but if it was a hair smaller at say 38 it would be perfect dimensions. I think this kind of watch isn't being catered for imo.
