Do you think duplicating ad sets and testing different genres and targets should be done during the learning phase of your campaign or after?
@UrsaandtheMajorKey Жыл бұрын
Now that you've worked with a lot more clients with various strategies, have you found that there is a noticeable difference in conversion cost between someone with a very professional looking music video as the ad visual versus not having that?
@AndrewSouthworth Жыл бұрын
Actually a lot of the time when artists have a very professional music video, they find their more organic looking content performs better. Music videos can work well, but in most cases i've found social media style posts outperform them in ads.

Do you let ads run beyond the learning phase before you assess performance, or can you pretty much tell after a few days? In your experience.

Curious to hear about this too. Just started a new campaign but my ads are stuck around $1 per conversion while in learning
@DavePowell666 Жыл бұрын
For what it's worth: My current ad campaign (via Hypeddit) has been running for a week....and it has remained at pretty much the same average cost of $0.70 per conversion despite coming out of the learning phase. Some days are higher some days lower. But overall it's just too high. However the Hypeddit engagement rate (% of people clicking on one of the links of from the smartlink landing page) has improved over that time, it started at 1% and currently at 10%. I guess that means it is at least learning which people are more likely to click on a link from the landing page. But I am not quite sure how the engagement has improved whilst CPC has stayed the same. That doesn't make much sense to me. :/

Hi Andrew! One thing that was never clear to me from your (amazing) explanations! When you say “try this, try that, try something else”, do you make a totally new campaign with the new settings (audiente, creatives, whatever) or you go and change what’s already running?
@AndrewSouthworth Жыл бұрын
Most of the time I have 1 campaign per song. But i'll create new ad sets, or turn off existing ad sets, inside that campaign. Or add new ads into the ad sets in the existing campaign. However I don't ever edit the ad sets, only adding or subtracting.

Andrew, your insights on music marketing conversion campaigns are incredibly valuable! I'd love to know, what inspired you to delve into this field and become so proficient in running effective music marketing campaigns, especially on platforms like Spotify?

Thanks! It was initially out of necessity to promote my own music, and then I thought other people might be interested in it so I started making videos about music marketing. Then I started really enjoying the process. People started wanting my advice and help more than the videos, and I released courses, consulting, services etc. Now music marketing is my life, I spend 50+ hours per week in this world.

Targeting tactics is interesting, people often listen to a broad range of music, and combinations can be really creative. Could be fun to see how you'd approach targeting for some more niche music in genres like instrumental soundtracks, Christmas/ holiday music, jazz ect.

Hi Andrew, can you make a video on how to run facebooks ads to sell tracks on beatport? Lots of dance/edm artists use beatport it would be very helpful.
@AndrewSouthworth Жыл бұрын
I've tried a little bit of this, the problem is we weren't able to really track how well sales were going because of the lack of an artist dashboard to track sales. Also, beatport isn't nearly as popular as something like Spotify or Apple. However the process was very much the same as promoting a song on Spotify .

Hi man! amazing content! quick question I'm running several ads on one ad set, it seems to be automatically prioritizing a certain ad over the others. How do I figure out which ad would work the best if one or two is being prioritized over the others? Is there a setting to this that gives them equal distribution or something?
@llennofficial4447 Жыл бұрын
Great content as usual Andrew. I have one question cause i never heard you mention this. What Attribution setting do you think artists should run?
@AndrewSouthworth Жыл бұрын
I generally do the default, 7 day click 1 day view. For streaming DSP campaigns, it really doesn't matter. If people don't convert on the link in that moment they very likely will not convert. However for purchase campaigns the attribution window matters more and you generally want the longest available (which is 7day click 1 day view I believe). This is because people might check your website or think about things before making a sale.

@AndrewSouthworth8 ай бұрын
FeatureFM and a few other services had to change how they process events due to changes at Meta. Now you can use the 'FeatureFM_click' event in your ads, and also use that for creating your retargeting audiences as well.

Bro, please help! I can't find an answer anywhere. Please choose a different Page post to continue." I've tried to upload and use so many different videos now. This is so frustrating, I have no idea what is going on and how to fix it :(
@AndrewSouthworth2 ай бұрын
Hey not entirely sure why this is happening, never had this error message before. Have you tried choosing another post? For the most part I don't use existing posts, I upload new ads - I would try that as well if another existing post doesn't work. It's possible there is some type of issue linking your IG account to your FB ad account if things still don't work after this.
@rnodern2 ай бұрын
@@AndrewSouthworth I was actually uploading fresh videos, not existing posts. I suspect the issue might be due to a new, unused pixel. I managed to work around it by first posting the video on my band's page, then using the Boost Post function. After that ad went live, I stopped it and retried the same video in the original ad setup that had previously been rejected, and it worked. Super weird!

@DeepHouseSouthAfrica10 ай бұрын
You need to use deep links - don't copy the URL of the track use the share track link

Typically if you're using a landing page service they automatically setup deep links to the streaming services which force open the app, instead of opening the web browser.

quick questions! how long do you run a certain audience before changing it if it doesn't work out? and second, I ran like 9 ads on 3 different audiences that had maybe 8 cents per viewcontent and the meta app gave me a popup that recommended i put all the ads under the same audience, that lowered the cost to 1 cent per viewcontet?? on the new audience that meta made had no targeting except for spotify and they had turned on advantage placements, what do you make of this?

Hi! Andrew! Great content as usual. I am having an issue with overpriced conversions on a campaign. I am using toneden as a landing page. I noticed that i have double maybe triple the pageviews on event manager that i have in ads manager. That made me want to research and i saw that i had a custom conversion for pageview which i remember you dont need when using toneden cause it already registers it as pageview in facebook ads. So my guess is that sometimes it got registered as a custom conversion and sometimes as pageview whenever someone clicked on the landing page. And since the campaign is counting conversion whenever a pageview is happening it doesnt count the custom conversion as a conversion and thats why i am getting so high conversion rates. I deleted the custom conversion so i get accurate results from now on. Am i guessing this correctly or am i totally out in the woods?
