Here is a GH page for mp3 library for pico github.com/ikjordan/picomp3lib For pico 1 vs pico 2 comparison here, I'd say it would be similar, although higher clock speed and more RAM is always nice.

There was a report that someone updated the circuitpython SYNTHIO music synthesis library with 12 note Polyphony, increasing it to 24 notes on the RP2350 (I can't find a reference to that update) while note generation is directed with python code, there is compiled C code implementing the actual 11-32K sample rate signal generation.
