since I don't have pigments or acrylic paint I tried to use chalk pastel... and it actually works pretty well. But I think I'll try the acrylic paint! it's cheap and it looks very good!

I use acrylic paint a lot. If you’re not careful, it can get kinda stringy. It doesn’t do anything to the actual piece, but it does make it a little more difficult to put in smaller, more intricate molds.

I'm a new but INSTANT fan of yours, my dear!!! THANK YOU for this simple, TO THE POINT, not filled with detail of the last 10yrs of your "crafting journey," ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, tutorial!!!! I'm a painter who's new to resin & I had no clue if micas (I use TLP micas in painting) HAD to be mixed directly into UV Resin OR...if paint could be used in place of micas. And BING, BANG, BOOM... in LESS time than it took for ME to write THIS accolades full comment that you SO definitely deserve, I ALREADY KNOW! So MUAH, MUAH, MUAH! 😘😘😘 And, since this was awhile back, I DO hope you're still on board & are accomplishing EVERYTHING you've hoped to accomplish. 😁 ~yvette in SC.

Thank you for your generosity with your knowledge! There is also acrylic inks available, more pigment with less binder. Also can be added to color various acrylic paint mediums (Matte, gloss, sculpting gel, etc) which I already use it for. Going to buy some UV resins gel, and little pots with lids, and crazy variations of mica powders too…thanks for the inspiration 🤗

Hi.. I am so happy to found out your channel, which is best to learn resin’s for non-Japanese people living in Japan like me 😃 I am absolute beginner to resin’s and trying small things from Daiso so far. You gave a brilliant idea to use acrylic paints for resine.. because that one turned out really best of all 👌👌 I just have one question about acrylic paint with resine. Is it safe to use acrylic paint for resine jewelry? Like earrings and pendants which directly touches to our skin? Will it be safe to use in jewelries for kids? I look forward for your reply on this😍 Thanks 😊

Like any item better quality paint always work better.(I use acrylic paint as other may not work) I try the $1 paint bottle with epoxy resin and it was ok. Then I use a more expensive paint ($10 for a small set) and it work way better. You need a paint that strong, pigmented, and do not have a lot of liquid. The expensive paint I have is basically a blob with no liquid. I only need a little for the color to show hence a better cure and better color. The water paint always need more and harder to cure. Paint is awesome cuz it come in more color. Some shade are almost impossible (like peach or light brown) to find in powder or liquid color. While paint has every color of the rainbow, cheaper (a small tube is last way longer than liquid bottle), and easier to find. Hence I suggest everyone to try paint at least once before not using it. Note: Also depend on your resin. I use art and glow (or higher brand name resin) and it work fine. If you buy cheap resin it may not work. Again, it about money. Buying knock off and cheap item don't always work well and it not the actual type of of product. Plus some product just don't work well. Also you can use nude eyeshadow (peach, warm brown, nude shade etc) to color human skin cuz resin pigment don't offer many skin tone. It easy to find and inexpensive.

Wow! I wonder why so many people have said acrylic paint won't work with UV resin?? It clearly worked just fine in your example. Did you adjust curing times at all with each piece. I don't think you mentioned how long you were curing them, and what wattage... and are you using a UV light or LED light?

How long are you leaving under the lamp for each? I've been playing with UV Resin and even when using Colored UV Resin added to the clear, something the piece will not cure after 30+ mins. Such as, I have the same set of "solid" colors as you and tried the grey and it didn't cure. Any tips for how much time vs how much coloring to add?

I have to reccomend one that wasn't included, food coloring! I would just use one drop because it's really pigmented, but I would also be pretty careful because some are water based and can mess them up. McCormick is pretty good and cheap

This was something i needed to see. I somewhat use UV resin but I wasn't sure about what I could color it with outside of pigments that is meant for that type of resin. I do know that with 2 part resins there is a wide range of things you can used to color the resin with but you still have to be careful with some (some of my favorites to see is things like drink mix powder and other food powders, I just don't think they will work that well with UV resin... maybe....)
