This is me. I get obsessed with something and spend 100s of hours researching, and then buy all the stuff. I have a craft room with a sewing machine, Cricut maker, heat press, hat press, tumbler press, sublimation printer, shelves full of fabric, everything you need to refurbish furniture including some power tools, everything you need to make jewelry, all kinds of sublimation blanks and cricut supplies including clothing, wood, glass, acrylic, ceramic, vinyl, leather, canvas...you name it. And now I have Epoxy that just came yesterday. I have to hide my packages so my family won't give me a bad time. My projects mean everything to me. I'm an accountant and I am physically disabled, so being able to go create things in my craft room brings me so much joy and purpose.

I know this is old and will likely get lost but I'm leaving it as this is, without a DOUBT, THE MOST HELPFUL, STRAIGHT TO THE POINT, AND EASIEST TUTORIAL I've EVER used on ANY platform for ANY reason! If only ALL were so PERFECT! I'm a bored painter who began using cabachons (bought online) as a way to repurpose & not waste paint skins. With bezels & cabs it was so easy & I was HOOKED! And no longer bored! Then I was very recently introduced to UV Resin where i could make my OWN cabachons and so much more. Well, I didnt have enough info nor the proper vids and tutorials & tonight I nearly QUIT! I was literally in tears because I was so excited for this and in the last few days all my supplies had arrived. I finally gave it a go over the last few and I was actually quite surprised that I was just creating one hot mess after another! At midnight I went to bed completely let down and sad. Everything is all packed up because tomorrow it would be going into the basement corner and the painting would resume. My hopes for participating in all the Spring craft fairs here in small town Southern USA were DASHED....THEN I FOUND THIS VIDEO! I'm not exaggerating when I say that I am ENTIRELY hopeful again that I can do this and it's literally ALL because of YOU! Please do whatever you have to do in order to bring this video to the forefront and "current" again bc I KNOW I'm not the only one who's new to this, nor am I the only one for whom this video could breathe life into as a new UV Resin artist! For me..this video is MY GAME CHANGER and I THANK YOU SOOOOO VERY MUCH!!! Blessings 💜 from South Carolina (the deep South) USA~yvette❣️

All very good info and tips/tricks. For some added fun... I use temp tattoos and nail foils on my UV resin pieces. Temp tattoos can actually be used DIRECTLY on the mold (use as usual...cut it out, remove protective sheet, put it face down in the mold, wet the paper backing and pull up the paper...**let it dry**) and then pour your resin on top of it. OR you can apply the tattoo directly on to an already cured piece. Either way I suggest doming over the tattoo to make sure it doesn't rub off eventually. Nail foils can also be used, in the same way you would put them on your nails. Take your cured resin piece, apply nail foil GLUE to the piece, cure the glue following package directions, apply the foil and again I would suggest doming it to lock in the foil art. You can ALSO use mica powder directly on the MOLD itself... I bought a bunch of tattoo/henna stencils on Amazon and I put the stencil down on the mold, color it in with mica powder, pull up the stencil and then pour the resin into the mold. The mica powder will stay right where you put it and "release" from the mold with the resin. Again, I like to dome everything, LOL! For me, the best lesson I learned with UV resin is to do large pieces (thick) in thin LAYERS. Since it only takes at most a couple minutes to cure, you can really afford to slow down and do thin layers for the best curing. Like you did with the black pigment, although with most other pigments you can go a little thicker before curing. The BEST tips that I got from your video is to not cure too fast on larger pieces... I didn't realize that was why I was having issues with "curling". I absolutely LOVE the idea of keeping my scraps... I hadn't even thought of doing that! I am absolutely loving UV resin because if I have to wait an entire day for resin to cure (reg. 2-part epoxy resin), sometimes I lose that "creative idea" I had for the piece when I started it.

Like some of your subscribers below, I bought everything, spent 100's of dollars for supplies and was about to donate them because I had no clue on how to get started or if I could do this. I'm a painter and do wood burning. I started seeing Resin videos popping up and felt intimidated because everyone makes it look so easy and simple. Never fails, when I start doing a new craft it's messy and all over the place and looks like a hot mess. But your video inspired me to give it a try and for that TY so much from the bottom of my heart and my husbands wallet (lol). Going to start off slow and little then work my way up. Again, Ty, Ty for this video. Hope you have a Great New Year.

I recently bought the Crafty Adventures UV resin to make eyes for puppets, or rather, the irises of the eyes. The resin creates a lens effect on the eye, which is just a plastic ball from an old faux necklace. I file down a flat round area on the ball, paint on the iris, or add a photoshopped print-out of an iris, and then simply add the resin over that. It cures in less than a minute and looks great.

So I was wondering why you did not warn us new people for those dangers? I am not being mean, I just am curious and I absolutely loved your video!
@PaulaStorm4 жыл бұрын
I very rarely get resin on my skin as I use moulds and tools, so I don’t feel the need to wear gloves all the time, but if I know it’s going to be a messy project I do wear gloves. I also work in a very well ventilated area (behind my camera are 2 glass doors that are the length and height of the wall) so I only wear a mask when using 2 part resin or when making big projects that give off fumes. Of course it is totally up to the individual to make those safety choices for themselves. I highly recommend people who are new to (Uv and 2 part) resins use gloves and masks. I had no idea that this video would blow up like it has, so I am putting together a new list of tips to make another video. PPE will be included in the next video x

I'm the same! I am interested in so many crafts. I envy people who can focus on just one. Thank you for the great tips.
