As a mouth breather, I rly hope this helps. I'm 23 and struggling to breathe at times running especially when swimming, even when my body isn't tired

It takes time and a lot of effort to change to nose breathing but it can be done. I suggest to get a copy of the book "Close Your Mouth" by Patrick McKewon to see more on this

Great video coach however getting dizzy when breathing through nose I guess lack of oxygen because I have allergies? Maybe it takes time.. what in tarnation is Measley that you eat for breakfast never heard of that in the USA is it oatmeal?
@Noregretspt4 жыл бұрын
Try not to breathe too much you have to learn to slow your breath down and reduce the volume. It takes a lot of practice when you are not used to it. The muesli I refer to with my breakfast is just a stack of nuts and seeds that I mix with some yoghurt, blueberries and strawberries as well.

Is holding your breath under water to breathlessness similar to swimming fast helpful for lungs ? Another question I asked Patrick and never got an answer, i taped my mouth at night for months, but, i breath through the and made a gurgling noise and my husband feels I am suffering. I don't know what to do !!?
@Noregretspt2 жыл бұрын
Holding your breath underwater and swimming fast are both good to try. They teach you to control your breath for long periods. As for taping your mouth it does take some time to get used to this and you may need to try different types of tape until you find the right one for you. It is worth persevering with it if it is not causing you any problems.

I've had to constantly think about breathing ever since I had covid about a year and a half ago now, it's torturous and literally drives me insane and is wearing on my body. It constantly feels like I can't get a full breath or deep breathe no matter what I do, no matter the supplements or exercises it's this air hunger like I am gasping for air throughout the day and night also it's this burning sensation in my lungs. This has been consuming most of my life constantly trying to breathe and take a deep breath it has cost me jobs and being able to live a normal life and is absolutely exhausting. Doctors and pulmonologist can't figure out what it is and are saying they don't see any damage on ct scans so idk what to do, it's been like this for almost 2 years now. I'm not sure if it's micro clots or what to do but it's almost constant throughout the day literally. Also every time I get a deep breath after hours and hours at times it smells and tastes like covid (the smell you get when you have covid), also almost a metallic blood taste and smell is frequently there. I am desperate to get healed and be able to have my life back and be myself again, if anyone could please give me any advice it would mean everything to me. Thank you 🙏

Get a breathing function test. My pulmonologist found I had mild air trapping. Did not show up on xray or ct. Medication will help.

Hi this may or may not help but inhaling humid air from a facial sauna and also doing bikram yoga to completely reposition the way the rib cage, intercostal muscles and diaphragm moves could be of help.

This is somewhat false. My lungs were terribly damaged so my lung function was set according to this video. I did all kinds of things which after a year has dramatically improved my lung function. He's lying to you. There's a lot of research to suggest he's wrong
