#3: aaah, yess! I've had to learn to restrain myself from being like, "well, you see, X did that because of their deep-seated trust issues, etc. etc...". I've definitely found that that kind of overt character psychoanalysis is more for the reader than the writer. I think I recognized early on that that was my favorite part of consuming fiction, but then I had to realize that as the writer I'M not the one who's supposed to be doing the consuming. A chef doesn't make a cake for someone and eat it for them, right?
