Those layering delay tricks sounded crazy! Night and day when the delays are bypassed

Love the Saosin cover vocal.

I'm suffering with the exact opposite of it! My vocals always seem to overpower the entire mix no matter how many processing I do! Please make a video about it too 🙏

“Processing” can mean anything. You don’t need to do *more* processing, just the *right* processing for the mix. Vocals can be very dynamic and sometimes need a lot of compression and gain automation to keep them at a consistent volume. Once the dynamics are under control, you can move them up and down more freely without it overpowering everything else or being drowned out. Of course there’s also EQ but that will depend entirely on the specific vocal and the mix.

Great stuff as always, Joey. Thank you! Would you do something on rhythm guitars in metal? I'm having problems with getting them out of the way from the center/vocals/snare even if hard panned L/R. Your mixes always have crazy separation.
