You can also use Silhouette Studio Business Edition software. You would upload the photo and trace the image. Clean up the image if necessary and save as a PNG or SVG file. Then upload PNG or SVG document to Design Space. You will need to clean up the image in Design Space, as mentioned in this video, before saving it. Click and upload image to canvas. Insert/ add a shape (eg: square) to canvas and place the image over it then Slice the two images. Sort through the sliced images and select the desired image. You should get a clear handwritten type image. *FYI - I haven't printed or cut my signature yet. However, it has worked for me with other images like a music sheet with notes and lyrics. It printed out perfectly on my printer. I even printed the image onto tissue paper.

Very informative, thank you. I have been trying to unsuccessfully add my mother's handwritten recipes to decorative tea towels for her grandchildren. I have saved her recipes to SVG's, but when I click the pen option in Design Space, it is an outline of her writing. How can I get it to look the way it was written instead of having hollowed-out text? I just want to copy her handwritten recipes onto the towels.

I don't use Inkscape, Vectornator, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Freshco app for my Vector Illustration program. My personal vector illustration program is CorelDraw2021 for windows. Question, will this program work seamlessly in Design Space once saved in SVG format?

It really doesn't matter which program you use to make your SVG. Once it's in SVG format then Design Space can recognize it.🥰

I have the cricut explorer 3 . When I try to cut without a mat the smart vinyl slides all over and destroys the design , sometimes doubles up and gets stuck under the roller wheel. How can I cut without a mat?

That shouldn't happen with cutting a full size sheet of smart vinyl. If it was cut smaller it should be placed on a mat. You may want to contact Cricut. You can reach out to them directly here: help.cricut.com/hc/en-us

@@JenniferMaker normally it's a 12x12 sheet of vinyl that this happens to. I do have 3 different mats for it and it works fine with them. I just purchased the roll holder with the cutter on front. I'm now assuming this is for large rolls of vinyl..? Because my rolls with only 2 feet of vinyl will not stay in place either...it's very frustrating. Do I need to adjust my little gripper wheels?? Be careful when uploading your signature online websites. Could be used for or against you. Photoshop is also another excellent option and it is stored on your computer. You can sandbox your signature from the web for your safety.
