Father I want to know you but my clings to its toys. I can’t part with them without deep pain and I don’t try to hide my terror of loosing them from you. I am trembling but I do come, please root out everything in my heart that I have held on to so tightly, things that have become a part of me so that you may enter and reign there without rival. Then Lord will the place of your feet be glorious, then my heart will no longer need the sun to shine for you will be it’s light and there will be no night there in Jesus Name. Amen

Oh God I have tasted your Goodness and it has satisfied me yet it has also made me thirsty for more. I’m painfully aware of my need for greater grace. I am ashamed for my lack of desire. O Triune God, I want to want you. I want to be filled with longing. I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me your glory I pray. That I may know you fully. Begin a new work of love in me. In your mercy, say to my soul, rise up my love, my fair, my one and come away. Then give me the grace to rise and follow you. Follow you up from the misty lowland. I have a wandered for so long.
