As a new snowboarder at 59, your videos have been a life saver. Progression has been so much faster with all of your tips. Since I missed the last 40 years of boarding, I’ve got to cram in as much progression as I can! Thanks for helping us newbies get into the sport.

I feel proud to say that I am an intermediate rider 😎 just ordered a new setup to replace the beginner boots/binding/board I got off Amazon a few years ago. I can’t wait to go shred some groomers lol 😅 one day I will be a pro because I love this sport and I’m not going to stop!

For real I’m boarding in Bulgaria (only place I’ve ever boarded) and the slopes are way narrower and with a billion skiers as obsticles to avoid. These wide empty slopes look dreamy 🤤

A question: i am good at heels but it was difficult for me to make toe press, can it also be about big snowboard boots? I just cant get why i cant press my toes enough to make toe edge? Im obsessed about snowboarding now kinda beginner i can say and your videos are great, i want to make it better 💪🏻💫
@longebane11 ай бұрын
You’re not supposed to press with your toes. You use your knees to stack your weight over the toe edge to initiate. Think about where your mass is placed on the board. Toe press has almost no leverage
@toadsmcgoats505311 ай бұрын
Exactly, what above said. Make sure you have well fitted boots. Then you need to just trust yourself. Push your weight/pressure into your chin of your boot. Trust yourself. Trust your gear. It was hard for me too.

Yo, I'm jealous of Canadas scenery, but you should come to Michigan and hit Mt. Bohemia if you haven't before! You can rent yurts at the bottom and they have a nordic spa too. But it's a triple black diamond hill and is super fun!

As for me all of it, maybe except steep terrain turn, look like beginner+ skill set. Consider it as a final exam for a beginner course. After passing it you can start learning intermediate level things

Hi! thank for the video. When I am turning heel side, I tend to kick my back foot in so that I come to full stop. How do I fix this? I feel like it has to do with my back knee pointing the opposite direction I am riding towards when I do a heel side turn. Could you give tips on this? Thanks!
@jaredbryce79645 сағат бұрын
You have too much weight on your back foot; at least, that's what it sounds like. Try having 60% of your weight forward and using your front knee/foot to turn, and just follow through with the rear foot. I did that a lot last year, too, and making sure my weight was shifted properly helped a ton. Happy shredding!

intermediate is riding switch on blacks and hitting rails frontside and 360 out. advanced is maybe back flip or barrel roll.

lol, and here I thought that slowing down after each turn on the steep "wall of death" part of the slope made me still a beginner 🤣🤣 I clear all items on this list. I'm an intermediate already??? I only started snowboarding 1,5 months ago...

@andm684711 ай бұрын
Ugh, when I define intermediate as what the average snowboarder in colorado can do then you need a lot more skills than what's shown in this video to be intermediate. I consider myself certainly much less than intermediate. For becoming an intermediate would need to be able to go much faster than shown in every terrain, you need to be able to carve, go down icy steep slopes, do moguls in a fast and decent way, go through tree glades, do heavy powder with speed, do some small basic jumps and have some moderate fun in the half pipe. That's what most boarders do around here.
@csdOmen10 ай бұрын
I'd say that's closing into the advanced part. Intermediates goal is to have the basics down and to start exploring you're niche. Whether thst be park rat or exploring unmarked trails is an Intermediate rider. I'd say advanced would be having your niche down and then being able to proficiently explore the other niches. This video is explaining Intermediate skills for groomed trails. My opinion is once you pick a niche you go back to beginner status. Also you have to consider everybody when making a video like this not everybody has access to a halfpipe but that doesn't mean they won't smoke you on a groomed trail. You know? Not everybody has access to x games level mountains
