I do the last drill we call “find it”. My dog loves this and I feel it improves her tracking and scent identification.

It’s nice to see owners who understand the needs of owning this breed. The best dogs with proper mental and physical stimulation.

For us as well, we love seeing other owners who treat their dogs with the attention and care they actually need. They are the best when at their best 🥰

Those are some really good ideas. Im going to use them, especially in winter when they can't go out as much. Tundra is good at the pole bending even if she doesn't like it. 💜🐾🐾💜

It’s hard finding effective exercises for the hot summers and cold winters when the dogs can’t go out as much. Thank you, she’s getting better at the pole bending 🥰🥰

Trundra looks like she was having fun on doing all her work .Be careful abt running up n down stairs and also jumping to high ..don’t wanna strain her legs as she is still growing. But other than that she’s doing good work they love finding things our gsps are the same 🥰😍😊

We will do something else instead of the stairs and wont let her jump as much until she is a bit older. She is doing great and it makes us happy when we see her progress.

Great stuff. Especially when the weather or conditions outside are inclement. But you can’t beat a 10 km or more walk. 😅

Winter in the alps - me and my wirehaired Queenie - she has a gps so i can allways follow her via my handy - i would not be able to walk up and down the hill (hight 1.500 meters)through all the trees and bushes, she runs 10-14 km and me 5-6. I am allways surprised how she makes it through snow 1 m high and minus 8 - 10 degrees❤

It is interesting seeing GSP owners that are not hunters and have them as a family pet. TBH I would not recommend them as a family pet and not using them as a working and hunting dog. It is great to see GSP breed owners doing the right thing as the #1 priority as GSP owner is building that loyalty with Tundra. GSP needs your loyalty to them as an owner of 4 GSP and the one in the picture is Grace. She is my top hunter and the other 3 follow her lead. They are natural hunters and they breed to be a Gun Dog and in reality they need to hunt. My GSP's can hunt for 6 - 8 hours at a time, with break time in there time of hunt. If non hunting seasons when we cannot hunt I work them as much as I can which is having them run fields and tracking rabbits or deer. They will venture 45 - 60 yards from me, but all 4 will always look back at me and if I want them to come back I raise my arm and all 4 come running back to me as that is based on loyalty. My recommendation as I see this with all non hunting GSP owners as do not train them on seeing objects, but to use there senses from there nose and ears. GSP when on the hunt are not looking they are smelling and listening. If you force GSP to look then they will develop a astigmatism that will allow them to stray from smelling and listening. It is important to keep that nose and ears working as it is there best feature as if there prey anywhere nearby they will sense it and once they do they will take off like a muscle car to it. GSP do have a ton of energy, but everyone has to remember they are breed to hunt and I am sorry to say this you cannot tire out a GSP sorry I live on a 20 acres plot they can run for 8 - 10 hours if I let them does not phase them.

Hi, we do somewhat agree and are completely aware of what she was bred for. However, Tundra really does get tired after mental stimulation drills…as unlikely as that sounds. But I see your concern because I know not all GSP’s are fully happy not hunting because they aren’t challenged enough… but we are doing the best we can. Tundra is happy and shows no sign of stress, depression or anxiety. And we will add more challenging sniff work to get drills. Also we have hundreds of acres behind our home that she explores off leash and she chases rabbits all day. She’s living a great life.

@@tundrathegsp sorry for the delay and I completely understand. After reviewing your videos I recommend to reduce that indoor energy like running and jumping on couches. You do not want that unexpected visit to the emergency room with a broken leg as there back legs are not design to handle soft couches or slip on floors and throw there hip joint out. You can train a GSP very easily for them to understand indoor and outdoor energy. No need for indoor high energy behavior, They are smart enough to know wild time only happens outside. Stereotypes really are just that…..as they can be calm as any dog inside your home. My 4 know once they walk in the door it is calm time and if they want to get wild I have trained them to ring a bell and I let them out so they can go crazy. Once they come in it is calm time, but I can give you some of my techniques on how to do it if you like.

Oh wow. I don’t know why people comment like that. Tundra is clearly happy. You guys are doing great!! Keep it up!! 😊❤ I have a GSP that isn’t hunting. (Realistically most GSPs are not actually hunting these days.) Enjoy your silly girl.!! My GSP is so similar to tundra. It’s crazy how much alike they are. They are just so much fun. My GSP has so much personality too just like Tundra. And I would never want to change him into a soldier. (Which is what the guy above is describing) But to each their own, I suppose. You guys are doing great!! Love your channel.

@@Sarahhh69 please use the internet and look up rescue groups for GSP's. It is becoming a real problem with so many GSP's are now being re-homed at a high rate. Some of the top GSP breeders in the US and Europe have stopped selling GSP to non-hunting families. My 4 GSP are considered family members and we treat them well. I am not knocking non hunting GSP, I am just providing insight on how to handle them.

I recommend not using the stairs for this. Mine suffered from arthritis and walking a lot of stairs tends to aggregate it in dogs, especially large breeds. Apart from that very lovely video. Tundra sure is a beautiful gsp.
