Well as long as you make sure that all the training data was only from people that gave their permission your safe, I'm pretty sure elevenlabs is safe, however be aware that steams tos is on Ai produced stuff is quite unclear at this point in time

Go through the hardship of learning the skills you need for gamedev, and learn to enjoy the misery, for it will take you the greater heights.

Ouuhhh, I like this! I totally agree, you should still go through the proper learning process, but I think it's important to learn how to use these new tools (aka AI) to make yourself more efficient 😉

@@SloydAI Yeah but you won't ever know if it's holding you back until you are at the appropriate vantage point. If you are already highly skilled and efficient at the tasks then you can evaluate whether AI speeds you up or slows you down. But if you are a beginner, it will make you feel like you're more efficient, but you may actually not be, because you will inherently have a bias due to lack of knowledge and experience. Also AI has been shown in studies (can't source this from memory) to be a worse teacher, since you learn best when you struggle at a task. So using AI as a tool only makes sense if you have already mastered what you do and you want an edge. At least that's how I see it.

AI as a tool should be used according to the needs of the dev, not necessarily after an arbitrary skill ceiling to be reached. If the goal is to make games, and make them more efficiently and faster to realize the creative vision, and AI helps the dev achieve that goal then this learning “the hard way” method doesn’t meet those development needs. And does it matter if they never learned certain skills properly? No. All that matters is they made games they’re proud of.
