Screen Capture for me personally is the outstanding technology that every teacher should know about. The fact that many screen capture tools are also free is a real bonus and in this video I focus on a free screen capture technology called screen cast-o-matic.
This is a highly practical video where I highlight 5 great ideas and one bonus idea around using screen capture technology for creating learning content for students like for example talking over a PPT presentation or talking over some pictures etc.
These ideas are:
1- recording yourself giving a presentation, I am using here a free technology Screencast-o-matic where I record myself over a PowerPoint slide which is ideal for any learning content.
2-correction work, for example vocabulary and pronunciation, using screen capture technology and a way of giving feedback to the students.
3-giving feedback on student's written work, using a screen capture recorder and record myself giving feedback
4-taking over a series of pictures, graphs or tables using Screencast-o-matic
5-get the students to use the screen capture technology for a homework and share it with you via email.
As a bonus you will learn how to use a screen capture recording to teach your students about other technologies. This could be anything for example Quizlet, Kahoot, Moodle, Edmodo and the process of signing up to it or how the features work or what the tool can be used for..
Screencast-o-matic is my favourite, free screen capture technology which I have been using for many years and it is still one of the best available screen recording technology on the net. Very useful in online teaching, hybrid and live classes can be used by the teachers and by the students. The teachers can use screen recording for any educational presentation, learning content like talking over pictures, PowerPoint slides, graphs also great for languages classes to improve student's vocabulary or pronunciation. Fantastic way to give a feedback to students on a written work as well as to train your students about any other tool you might need in your classes.
The students on the other hand can use screen capture- recording technology to do their homework by recording themselves about any topic and submitting it to the teacher.
This video is great for teachers who are looking for ways of efficient teaching using screen capture technologies. I share in this video my ideas how to use a Screencast-o-matic a completely free tool to make the classes more interesting and engaging.
