The beginning of the IAF was depicted in the movie " cast a giant shadow " where Frank Sinatra played a pilot flying a small passenger plane fighting off an enemy plane , he was shooting a gun out the window and ran out off ammo , all he had left was a water pistol which he used , unfortunately it didn't have the range or the power , so he got shot down , I think the IAF have come a long way since then.
