The mum was carrying her baby and a young girl, she fell from the terrorist's bike when they saw the tank, she took the opportunity to run towards the tank but they didn't see her so she continued to run. She could have saved 3 precious hostage release spots for others or she could have ended up like the bibi family because we know babies cry and the terrorists do not like hostages to talk. But that mum has lost a lot of weight advocating for her son and husband who are hostages. Her 9 year old son suffers from some kind of anxiety issues, hope the terrorists would be tolerant.

The officer looks, is, so young, yet she’s capable of deciding in a split second not to panic so she decided not to blast the house as the soldier had asked. This isn’t about them being women (it would be false to assume that because of what they accomplished any woman can accomplish that too), I think it’s about having the rignt mental strength. I hope they don’t get PTSD or if they do, that they heal soon.

There are two officers in the video. The captain, who would command a company of 9-12 tanks, is at 0:23, 3:15, and later. A lieutenant, commanding a platoon of 3-4 tanks, is at 3:57, 4:30. Both of them look like they should still be in high school and I wouldn't guess that either one was an armored corps officer. From their descriptions of what they did, both were apparently exercising command. One of the tank crew members looks like a resentful American 14-year-old. The officers have undoubtedly established their authority over their own units and of course their subordinates know who is boss.

What an inspiration these women are. Almost children but coming together and fighting, real fighting, as an effective team. I have three adult daughters and have always looked for ways to show them what women are truly capable of doing. This is a a text book example.
