I am an offensive minded coach and this system looks like it can work. As any offense OL play is crucial and with all the film I've seen the QB gets rid of the ball fast and throws accurate. Good inside runs, too. This offense is worth looking in to. Thanks Coach Renner.

@Amadeus9109 yes that's y they're using the West Coast offense philosophy which is a quick precise on-timing passing game to get the pressure off the Quarterback. Usually it's 3-steps drop and throw and sometimes it can be just 1-step quick screen.Running down the middle is just a complimentary play to advantage of the defense when they're over playing the pass.To be simple, west coast offense uses pass to develop the run and the Run N' shoot offense uses run to develop pass. from Hong Kong

im working towards making a name for myself in offensive play calling and i guess this could be handy only for many formations. I am very west coast move the chain oriented but would rarely line up more than two WR's and sometimes just one. Reason is because I use the power technique using multiple TE's and even a TE to play FB as well as the every day backs that must know how to catch the ball for I love screens and quickouts to TE's. I am more of a SingleBack with 2 or 3 TE's or I Form Big

Have you ever considered adding any Run and Shoot stuff?Really enjoy your insight

Run and Shoot and what I do are somewhat similar. We both attack a secondary's player technique with routes that make it difficult for them to defend. The difference is that I don't have the receivers make route adjustments depending on the coverage post snap. For me the receivers run the route I call with no adjustment. I started my pass routes using the post snap "site adjustment" idea but I found that it took too long to teach to high school quarterbacks and receivers. And, high school defenses didn't always line up correctly to give you a true coverage read. So, I read the defense, tag the receiver for the quarterback to look at first and then post snap he confirms my tag and throws in rhythm. Or, he goes to the next route on the tag side. It allows the quarterback and receiver to play confident pre and post snap without reading and thinking. I like that at any level.

This is a "West Coast" passing philosophy in a spread offense, not a West Coast Offense. That means the QB steps and WR steps are all timed together so the ball can be thrown on time and on target without route adjustments, QB alerts, etc. You can run this passing philosophy in any formation not just a pro type formation with 2WR, 1TE, 1RB and a FB.

5 Wide attack spread... needs a very good Offensive Line. I can't image that, somebody run in the middle, without TE or FB. Can these 5 Receiver enough well blocking? I don't know. a WR from Hungary....

I've never heard of a 5 Wide West Coast Offense. I'm a West Offense type of guy. I would like to use 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 RB and a FB.

And I thought West Coast offense is supposed to be a ball control and to use the clock as much as you can? not a fast paced attack?
